Steam 'Treasure Hunt' Sales

Chime is a really good game. I also like Poker Night, though I am a bit upset it went on sale so soon after I bought it. I don't think it's been out more than what 2 weeks and it's half off. That's just nuts, it's like they are asking users to never buy games at release anymore cause it'll be on sale in a few days.

We're talking $4.49, $4.99, $2.99, the difference is immeasurable.

If a game was $39.99 2 weeks ago and now is $19.99 on sale, that'd be "half off"

Strongly disagree. Pretty lame for them to give a 40% sale so soon after release regardless of the starting price.

Suppose I bought 5 copies for my friends that play TF2?

Ok, I've accepted everyone that invited while I was at work, and those that have posted their IDs. Don't be offended after the promo if i do some pruning folks.

How the heck do you guys not have enough steam friends?

I already have 163 people on my friend list.

Normally there are either major call outs before big games are released for people to play with on the Steam forums or you make friends online while playing in a server, lots o folks added that, people you play well with.

Ugh, I tried playing The Undergarden ... can't bring myself to play it for than a minute or two. Feels like I'm flying a teletubby around growing flowers and crap.

Agree on the teletubby part. I played the demo and almost passed out on my keyboard. Gameplay seemed mildly interesting, but the music and over all feel of the game brought out the Zzzzzzzz's in me. Luckily we get credit for the contest entry for just playing the demo and not wasting 5 bucks.

Feel free to add me but fair warning if youre not in the HG group or fairly old school then I may ignore invites. I typically ignore invites from people who have few/no games/friends/groups in common with me and just recently created an account.

Yeah, had to check a second time. Apparently playing for ~5m was enough to get me the achievement.

no deals today :( Oh well, I already had the mafia 2 achievement so one more and I get a hat!

Although the undergardens thing was definitely not my cup of tea, asking you to play demos seemed about the best use of this contest. Asking you to buy stuff, some of it defnitely not for everyone, is a little weaselly. But demos seemed like a great idea.

If people gift shutter to each other than they can do 2 objectives

And as TheBuzzer said, since I'll bite the bullet on the first buy, you can pay it forward and let others complete the objectives for this round.

I've completed the "gift someone a game" thing many times over. Never mind that 90% of it is due to a friend from Germany sending me money to gift him some games he can't get uncensored.

Just a Reminder

Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry. And no, alternate entries won't earn you any TF2 hats.

Its $0.28 to send a postcard. Cheaper than $2.50 for a game you'll never play.

I'll fulfill my "gift" objective and you'll get dogfight. First reply, quantities limited (to 1).
