i just passed 2.1GB of data transfer on my Droid, been reading a lot of mange.

my cycle ends 12/15, how much you think i can get to by the end of it? :D i never really pushed data past 400MB before.

what carrier you have? most throttle at 5gb on their unlimited data plan

att only offers 2gb, but how often do people actually use up all 2gb? especially when there's wifi

Not often, but on my current bill cycle I'm already up to 1028MB after only two weeks. Mostly due to tethering I think. No worries here though cause I still have unlimited from ATT.

I've said this in other places before but with ATT, grab an iPhone 2G from a friend, pop your SIM card in and get a data plan for it on your account. The only option is the unlimited EDGE plan which then qualifies you to upgrade to an unlimited 3G plan. That's what I did and I now have unlimited 3G on my captivate :D

that, is pure sexy genius.

check their terms of use for unlimited Internet....i believe they throttle you at 5GB

Verizon and sprint have no 5GB cap or throttle after 5GBs. I know from experience and have seen other people break 5GBs constantly with no penalty. I've went over this "cap" a few times with my Droid. I've looked in the terms if service and found no mention of it too.

I'm holding right at 40mb of use for this month, which ends in 9 days.

I have Wi-Fi EVERYWHERE.

I went over 4gb/m a couple times when I first got my Droid-Inc on VZW before I started using more wi-fi. Listening to several hours of Pandora and YouTube per day will rack up the data very fast. Sadly I failed to test the legendary 5gb cap, and now I'm using a ton less 'cause I use wifi most of the time now.
