Thoughts on this? The most I'm ever going to do is stream from my computer and Netflix. The web browsing is cool but I've got three laptops and two desktops that handle the internet quite well. The interface is fantastic and I really feel like the product has potential, but it seems a bit wasted on the more technological savvy person like me.

With the PS3 I get the added bonus of a new game console and a Blu-Ray player.

Opinions on this?

I have both, I actually use the revue more. I use a 360 for media streaming. But if you are only concerned about media streaming and Netflix, then I would get the ps3. If you watch tv a lot you might use the revue more.

That's just it though; the Revue isn't exactly optimized for my cable box. Any time I search for a show it only returns the SD channels. I feel like most of the features are wasted and that the PS3 is a better purchase.

Have you gone into the settings and edited your channel lineup?

My channel lineup has been properly set up and I have Enable HD Channels checked and it still doesn't find HD channels when searching.

Doesn't matter though, I find myself watching less TV.

Cancel tv, play ps3 games and stream netflix instead.

I'm saving over 100/month right now, and i'm more productive at home. This year, i'm blowing my 1200 in savings in vegas. Next year, who knows....

I want to cancel the cable but the girlfriend wants to keep it.
In that case you have 2 options:

1: Tell her that you make the decisions and you're cancelling cable. Result: she leaves and you wind up alone
2: Keep paying for cable until you go broke. Result: she leaves and you wind up alone

Tough luck :(

well aren't we full of cheer today.

The PS3 is painfully bad with internet browsing typically on almost all websites I have tried. Very slow to say the least and most things don't work (youtube does though)...... I would almost definitely not replace your revue with a PS3 for that purpose above. It's nice for gaming and watching movies.

If you weren't using the google TV for internet, why did you even buy it? With cheap HTPC media boxes, you could have easily saved $200 and got a Roku or something that would have been of much better use to your needs above

ROKU HD BOX --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002SFDJMQ

I was using it for internet but it seemed almost pointless considering I had three laptops within arms reach. While it was cool to be able to watch YouTube on my TV, I just felt like I wouldn't be able to fully utilize the Revue.

I'm really happy with my PS3 now. I'm sure I'll be able to convince the girlfriend to drop cable soon.

Vegas eh? Sounds like it could be fun. ;)
