Offical Call of Duty Black Ops Thread

What pisses me off is that my stats ALWAYS get reset. I went 33-1 today, stats didn't record and my stats also reset back to 0 for leaderboards. Wtf is going on?
 
thats wierd. I've had XP and stuff like that go missing from my account before (after a match) but I always assumed that it was because of a hiccup with either my internet connection or their cloud servers.

It's completely resetting your stats back to zero? I would call their tech support about it. It sounds like it's a problem on their end somewhere.

Like all your money is gone also or? But like the other guy said, I would defiantly call tech support on it just to see what they say.
 
Rerolled 3 SAM turrets into 3 Chopper Gunners in the span of two consecutive games on the same server, a Nuketown server no less... surprised no one called me a hacker.
 
Ran into Commander FAT yesterday in a sticks and stones match. It's still running inconsistently on my computer so I bought a 360 and black ops earlier today. Yes, I paid even more money for this POS. :eek:
 
This game out right sucks. Still getting ridiculously low frame rates, none of my favorite servers show up any longer along with friends, and it totally reset my stats 3 times now. I find myself playing the game less and less.
 
i'm having a lot of fun with the MP, despite the fact that this is the most frustrating COD game to date (for me). it's frustrating because i get my ass handed to me a lot. i find that my usual aggressive-type gameplay that i use in COD games just gets me killed in Black Ops. i do much better when i slow down and take my time. i'm still struggling to adjust the way i play, but when i'm mindful of it and slow down i have a lot of fun.

I'm having the opposite experience. In previous Call of Duty games my run and gun style didn't work too well. In Black Ops I find it works much better than it did in Call of Duty 4Modern Warfare or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

I find there are a lot more players going full auto and throwing a ton of bullets around. It's kinda lame.
 
Can't play more than 10 minutes without a "Windows power service terminated" error. Any ideas? I've always had this issue with CoDBO but more since the last patch.

All drivers up to date, prime95 can run all night no errors.
 
The graphics are cartoonish, the weapons are weak, the sound is bad, and the voice acting is poor.

It's like it's a cheap MW2 knock off. It's almost as bad as World at War.
 
im having a lot of fun with this game right now, but like others im still experiencing occasional poor performance.

been having a lot of fun on my clans 24/7 nuketown demolition server. the exp is ridiculous if you do well (which i usually do.) been using hardline pro with sam, care package, sentry and i get a rediculous amount of killstreaks. from one set of 3 i got 2 gunships and a huey. needless to say the other team was pissed. best game so far is 102 and 8, only had 1 huey, got like 60 kills with it. i think this is a very fun game but the optimization leaves something to be desired. ill be upgrading my proc mobo and ram this christmas and that should enable my 460 to fully unleash. right now it sits at about 50% usage with my q8200.

like other COD games there is a large discrepancy in the firepower of guns in each category. the ak74u is godlike compared to the other smgs and its actually better than most of the ars, especially at close range with a grip and steady aim. sniper rifles are highly disappointing, i find that they are so horribly inaccurate that i have missed close range headshots on afk guys.
 
god damn theatermode. I got a 6 man kill feed and for some reason theatermode didn't record the game.

shit.
 
Game's a POS. Our clan already cancelled the rented server as no one even was motivated to play any further.

It's like a shiny poop. Yay shiny, bah poop.
 
well i played littlebit of it, and the worst thing for me is physics, its so bad, and how unralistic it is, i mean i played on hardest level and 4 soldiers pointing at me with assault rifles and i just jump out and kill em all, Rambo style Hell yeah usa usa hahahaha

you know compering this game to crysis on hardest it just another planet, its just like Avatar versus Mars Attack! a big fat joke

Because it's still buggy as hell, is just a free for all without any teamwork, a stat whore dream single player game in a multiplayer dress. Everyone just plays for themselves and no one even cares about the mission objectives, just about their stats. For clanplay, it's a total fail as you can't even change teams on ranked servers, the server admin tool is a complete joke, jeez i could go on and on and on about this failure they call game. It's a rambo style deathmatch game without any skill. For people who like to casually play online without any friends it might hold some amusement value but for clans, this is a complete POS and so far no game has been around long without clans playing it much and this one will not be played much by clans, i bet on that.
 
Yeah, this game is a failure and I really was looking forward to it. The only match I will play in is TDM because there is no teamwork what so ever. It's basically a run and gun game. It is fun to play, just wish there weren't so many bugs.
 
really wish i wouldnt have spent the money on this game. while it is nice to take a break from bc2 would much rather have spent the money elsewhere.... =(
 
For those wondering if their dual core will be adequate for this game I did a little test today. I installed with a single core Sempron 140 and a 5870...I had to unlock a core on the Sempron because the game would not start on one core. Bottom line is it ran just fine and framerates were recorded as high as 137. :p

Agreed they need to fix clan/team/friend support to be on the same team. But in reality I, and my people, have a blast playing.
 
Is anyone else not able to post on the callofduty.com forums? Whenever I click on Reply it just reloads the thread.

Also, is anyone having problems with Black Ops on PC minimizing the game at random? Sometimes I'll just be standing there or I'll touch a movement key and poof, the game minimizes to the task bar. Annoying as fuck. At first I thought it was my keyboard but then it would happen when I'm not even touching any keys.

Considering I really enjoyed MW2, I am just completely surprised by how much I dislike Black Ops. I too feel like I wasted my money and that is a shitty feeling :(

I had trouble at first but since logging on I have had no trouble. I can only minimize if I quit the match I am in.

I feel much the same atm...hoping the new FEAR will renew my faith.

Has anyone experienced this? I kept running into this fellow during a game who was completely red in color...is there some red suit perk I am unaware of? :p

Maybe it's the Lady Gaga Meat Dress perk. Makes it so that you attract all the attack dogs...okay maybe it's not a perk...unless attack dogs were really near Lady Gaga while she was wearing it.

Also, what do you mean by logging on? What did you do exactly? I still sorta think it's my keyboard. I've noticed sometimes my movement keys will get stuck and I'll be in a perpetual strafe or walking/back pedaling motion.

I meant when I would try to sign in it would refuse to do so and jump to another page. Can't say as I did anything...it just worked all of a sudden. :confused:

Edit: I see what you mean now FAT - The site is as screwed as the game evidently...

anyone still having stuttering issues with this game in single player? pretty bad when you can max out Crysis/Warhead yet this game runs like complete ass. i've tried some tweaks with not much luck. maybe i just need to mess with it some more.
