Going for an easy build just to deal with the airflow issues in my 800D, and because I really feel like going WC again.

So, I'm going to be cooling an E8400 (eventually upgrade to a 1366 or Sandy Bridge after Christmas) and a pair of 6870s. Here's what I've priced out so far, just sanity check for me that this will all go together and work, and isn't going to be inadequate. I went all koolance gear (and the Exos, since it just works and will fit perfectly on top of the 800D) but I'll consider other blocks (but want the exos setup).

Koolance 360 V1 Block

Tubing (either this, or local hardware store)

3x each of the quick connects (no spill)

Will run Exos -> QC -> CPU ->QC2 -> GPU1 -> GPU2 -> QC3 -> Exos.

Any thoughts? Not too worried about hte cost as much as making sure it works well, and quieting things down a bit.

hey nice!!! i have a c2d 8400 as well.. ughh sure u wanna go with a kit? i have all my cooling products on ebay right now. and salen it dirt cheap.. i have a 355 pump bought october 3rd this year. 2 120 mm rads koolance rads. and a dangerden tdx 775 water block. all its lacking is the tubes. heck i think i even have 10 1/2 koolance hose clamps. the barbs and a reservoir.. tubes are cheap so are the barbs. all ud need is a res ... just thought id offer.

some reason i cant find the same pump but its a laing ddc 355 pump. just thought id offer.. im asking 65 for the pump and 2 rads.. then asking $15 for the tdx water block.

ooo after i water cooled my 8400 i was able to get it to easily 3.60 with hardly even touchen the volts and stil was wayyyy cool!! im sure i could hit 4.20 easily and still be stable..

yeah - given that I'm ~lousy~ at designing and hiding, I chose to buy things that look nice from the get go - I'd never hide/maintain/set up a homebrew kit right, so I'll just stick with it. Plus, I love how the Exos looks and the features it has :) And it'll sit at exactly the right spot for the built in grommets in the case. :)

I believe that Exos uses an aluminum radiator... this is bad news when you mix it with copper blocks like the 360. I forget what it's called but basically things will start to corrode and eventually you'll have leaks.

The 360 block is nickel plated to avoid the oxidation :) I had to double check on that though - good catch. Looks like I'd have to stick with Koolance / nickel plated blocks to avoid it.
