How Much Data Do You Use?

I just got my statement from Verizon today. I used 1,028,978 kilobytes = 1004 megabytes = Just around a Gig.

The highest I've ever used was 2,800,000 kilobytes, but that was when I was on vacation and my phone was the only access to the outer world I had.

I don't think I will be able to go down to the 150mb a month plan. I just use my phone too much. I blame it on Hardforums, it's where I am the most on it.

I use 2 to 3 gig per month without tethering. I doubt tethering increases my usage by any considerable amount. If I need online bad enough to tether it's usually to perform a task rather than dick around web surfing or downloading.

depends on the month. Anywhere from 2-8gb... sometimes more, sometimes less

Should have added a poll option for 5+ gb. I don't use that much, but since that seems to be the standard cap (where there is one)...

Wow, I didn't realize so many people used so much. I thought 1 gig was a lot.

Average is 4-5GB. Last two months due to the StarCraft 2 GSL's broadcasting while I'm on the way to work (I take the metro) I'm at 10+GB.

When I first got my droid I was close to 1 gig. Now, much less. Probably less than 200MB. Use Wifi mostly at home.

Virgin Mobile Unlimited.

I stream video/audio all the freaking time.

Last month:
Total data use: 1,335.6901 MB
Total data charges: $0.00

Over 600MB so far this month, and my cycle just started - busy week.

Unlimited on TMo.

Only time I use 3G is in transit, wifi at the house, lab, and free-net around town. Usually stay under 200MB/month (two data phones on the plan)

A hair over a GB, but it has decreased since I'm using mostly Wi-Fi now

500mb to 1500mb average I'd be lots more if I wasn't so busy at work.

iPhone 3Gs, a wee bit over 200MB every month.

Unfortunately, I'm quite sure its not unlimited. Most cell phone carriers in the U.S seem to have a 5gb cap, either "hard" or "soft". With T-Mobile's case, its soft, where they will severely throttle your speeds down if you go over 5gb I believe.

I'm sorry to sound rash, but it's getting old seeing this repeated argument on every phone forum. The whole "5 GB limit" thing is only true for AT&T and partially for T-Mo due to their throttling after 5 GBs. I'm on Verizon and have went over 5 GBs a few times (mostly tethering usage too) without any penalty whatsoever. I have seen several threads/posts on other android forums I visit frequently from high usage users that consistently go over 5 GB/month without penalty too. I've even went through my contract and data agreement forms on Verizon thoroughly and couldn't find a mention of any cap on the unlimited data plan.

Same argument goes for Sprint users, I've seen several people attest that they've went over the "limit" repeatedly and were not charged or reprimanded for it. I would argue that even though T-Mo throttles bandwidth past the 5 GB mark, since you're not being charged for "overage" usage, then it's still technically an unlimited plan as it's labeled. So the only (major) carrier with this 5 GB/month cap is AT&T and that was just implemented by them this year. I think people keep confusing the data card (for laptops/PCs) plans, that have the 5 GB cap on most carriers, with smart phone plans that are actually unlimited.

Around 350MB a month. I don't tether or steam videos much unless I want to catch some Hockey highlights and I'm not by a PC.

2-3GB since I tether and use my phone to download stuff

it IS unlimited but the first 5GB are at the fastest speeds you can get After that it is 2G or lower

I am pretty much always on wi-fi and if i am not then I am only browsing the web so 200-500 a month is about it. How ever if I decided not to use wifi I would prbly be hitt 2gbs a month on my phone.

1-1.2gb/month.
