Microsoft announced the source code drop for an F# 2.0 compiler today proving once again that sometimes the headlines really do write themselves. :D

This release reinforces the commitment Microsoft are making to F#, including F# in Visual Studio. As explained in my PDC10 lecture The Future of F#, we have a clear vision for F#, indeed a ground-breaking one, and are investing in it. To augment this, we are glad to be able to provide a compiler/library source drop, and are excited about the role this can play for education and tool development.

Can you be more F# about F#? You seem to lack a certain F# about your love for F#. I'm F# that F# will be the next F# for mere mortals. What else can you tell me about F#?

Why is F Sharp funny? Am I not [H] enough???

True....

This release reinforces the commitment Microsoft are making to F#, including F# in Sexual Studio. As explained in my PDC10 lecture The Future of F#, we have a clear vision for F#, indeed a ground-breaking one, and are investing in it. To augment this, we are glad to be able to provide a video/library source drop, and are excited about the role this can play for sex education and sex-tool development.

Are you sure you know what F# stands for? ;)

Call me F# confused. Can somebody explain to me what an F# is? And I don't mean a semitone above F.

If I am not mistaken its like Microsofts version of Java optimized for .net right?

You are mistaken. That's J#, and it was discontinued forever ago.

F# is a functional programming language for .net. If you have used OCAML, then F# is bascially like that.

I've used it in a few projects for school in which functional programming offered a better approach, but I still prefer C# for most projects.
