Fallout:NV. List your MODs

Is there a mod out there to turn off the VATS and critical hit kill animations? the silly SLO-MO thing?

iirc thats an option semewhere, default is on 'cinematic' but can be disabled.

anyone have a link to a weight mod that isn't ridiculous?? I'm looking to raise it to like 400 to 500. Ones I'm seeing make like 800+

Yeah, I have that is pretty balanced, but I'm not on my NV computer right now. It scales nicely with your strength. I think I'm at 375 or something right now. It was one of the first mods to come out, within a day of NV's release.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up about the mod manager.

Seems as if there's doubt that Timeslip is even going to bother with Vegas so this might be our best bet for now.

I'm using it right now. Seems to work great. :)

I forget his name, but someone else was doing the updates for FO3. He did a good jobs too. He's probably the person to watch for.

So adding certain mods will disable achievements? Anyone know if URWL will, this particular mod interests me.

I hope not and frankly, I don't care because I'm using it and it's really good. :)

I think if you wipe your nose the wrong way it'll disable achievements. There's just too many things I want to be able to do in this so if that's the "sacrifice" then so be it.

I hadn't heard anything about MODS causing achievements to not work. I do know that use of the console will disable them, though.

lol, one time I sneezed while playing, then steam gave me a warning to the effect of, "if you do it again, I'm going to take away an achievement."

btw, it's nice to finally have the readius to run around with. It's a PDA instead of an armwrist pipboy. I don't hate the pipboy, but I do like this better.

Achievements are dumb. If you open console to change anything on that load, no achievements. But, if you save right before an achievement point and then close/reopen the game and reload, you can get the achievement.

Open the console w/ the tilde key and enter: "player.modav carryweight +<your value>"

Using modav is preferable to forceav has values changed with modav will still work within game systems. Values changed with player.forceav will be stuck at that value unless you change it. The plus is also not necessary, but remember whatever value you enter here will be in addition or subtraction to the current value (can use + or -).

I've seen a few. Do a search at Nexus for textures and such.

Right now I'm using Fook, Fellout, and URWLNV and I'm very happy with how things look.

I have seen Project Beauty start up as well. I check the Nexus several times a day.

YES!

cheers mate

I thought running mods or using Console commands broke the game if you have it on Steam?

Only steam achievements. It won't break the game. And if you exit the consoled' game and re-enter before you get to a point where you would earn an achievement, then the achievement will supposedly work.

Oh okay. I don't really care about Steam achievements. I'm not an achievement whore. :p

I have started a number of times to try different things out - and the intro is PAINFULLY slow.

Made a couple saves that have you good to go, you load, walk a few steps, and it asks you if you want to change your name and rebuild your character. (You're a bit north of the gas station in Goodsprings) Nothing storyline or karma done. Only person spoken to was the doctor just to get out the door. Starting items are on you.

Two saves - one with hardcore chosen, one with regular.

Can download them here: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36276

Very convenient. Thank you!

I'm not running much for mods for my first 2 runs (co currently playing them both - a guns/independent path and a energy weapons/NCR path). Both of my saves use the project beauty and Rikai's Hair Pack + Nova's hair style. I decided to not touch hardcore until I finish the game and then judge if I'll give it a shot in the future.

My guns save is mostly vanilla except for a backpack mod, an armor mod (NEVEC Body Suit) and a USP weapon mod (slightly beefed up .9mm). The energy weapons save however is running the SC2 Ghost Theme - I think that's nuff said here :D I hop onto this whenever I feel like being stupid overpowered.

I am currently watching the Sandstorm mod that adds some wicked sandstorms, but I really want it to affect line of sight (NPC wise - I mean, If I can't maybe 10 feet in front of me, the NPC should not either.)

I'm trying to keep it mostly sane for my first playthrough and have mostly been sticking to shoulda-been-in-the-vanilla-game and prettying-up mods.
The ATI d3d9.dll fix
The 4 GB enabler Helps it run a bit smoother, maybe do to its mild stutter remover.
http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35225 Faster pipboy. With the number of times you'll be using the pipboy, you'll want this.
BearTrap.esp Like mines, but reusable!
LootableOldCars_OE.esp Makes sense to be able to salvage SOMETHING from cars.
ammoingredientsloot.esp You already find wonderglue and abraxo and junk everywhere, why not ammo ingredients?
pyDoF.esp Depth of Field and Motion Blur. Chose this one over the other DoF mod because it allows you to change the settings in-game.
noautoaim.esp Makes sniping easier (bullets go where you aim!), but has problems with hit registration, especially at very close ranges.
Western Sky+Darker Nights50% I combined these two mods using FNVEdit and have been loving the results.
Compiled Patch.esp

I'm really waiting for some weather mods, like rain, and for the sandstorm mod to get an update. Gonna merge them with that Westernsky+Darker Nights mod. :D

EDIT: And of course the Mod Manager!
