This is not going to end well for Street View in Italy...at all. Trust me, those people that like to dress up funny and get photographed by the cars will have a field day with this.

Under the regulator's decision, Google has to publish three days in advance on its website, in local newspapers and on radio in which locality, including which area of a large city, the cars will be operating, La Stampa said.

This should give you loads of material Steve. :p

You could have an Italy Street View "shot of the day" for about a year. I would look for opportunities around monuments.

When people around the world view Street View in Italy, it's going to look like the country is filled with billions of people.

This will not be good for Italy.

This just in, a StreetView car is part of highspeed chase after the driver had been accosted during his routine rideout. We go now to our Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa for more.

- Thanks Tom, the situation is desperate here in Bologna, Italy. Apparently the driver only made it to the first stop sign on his route when he was pulled from his vehicle by a strange overweight white male with a white bra over his [H] logo covered shirt. A spokes person for the local Policia says they are currently pursuing the vehicle and warning other motorists to please stay off the roads or they may just end up on google's StreetView.

When questioned about the situation Google's CEO had this to say.
"Well it's unfortunate but damn are we getting alot of area covered today, unfortunately some people may complain about the constant Blue Lights on the rear camera."

/grabs popcorn...this is gonna be good!
