The National Football League is a progressive sport franchise embracing changes that improve the fan’s perspective, on the field and on the wide screen. In the near future, the NFL will be adapting new technology to make the game even more enjoyable without ruining the original feel of the game.

Although the NFL has not made any official statements on when this tech will kickoff, Ray Anderson, NFL executive vice president of operations, told TechNewsDaily: "It’s going to happen. It’s in the works."

ya seriously, what exactly is the future tech?

I've got a suspicious feeling that the 'future tech' will be 3D and they are trying to ....passive fans who might feel that 3D would ruin or somehow change gameplay, that football will still feel just the same and instill involve the consumption of beer, chips and other unhealthy food in massive quantities.

fu nfl for trying to make me pay for preseason and select games

One cool idea I had for the NFL would be to have tracer lines for all the players like a Tron LightCycle behind them, so you could see the players routes, not during a replay or play analysis during breaks or between plays, but in realtime. That would rock.

Even the football would have it's tracer line so you could see it's trajectory, speed, rpm's, etc. Hell you could even do it for the further for the refs so you could see where they are in the game play.

About time they developed the sensor in the ball idea...I came up with that years ago! :)

The NFL is the biggest franchise control freak on the internet...bar none. Don't expect any real change soon.... particularly not free, or even cheap.

One thing I miss was that matix like replay they used to had back in 2001 or 02?
