If you are interested in starting your own business, why not just buy an established one instead. If you have, let’s say, about a billion dollars to throw at an enterprise, just pick up GoDaddy.com, the girls in the advertisements are included in the sale price. :D

GoDaddy is the world's largest domain name registrar. The company was founded by Bob Parsons in 1997, and says it has more than 43 million domains under management.

Talk about clear outta the blue... with nearly $900 million in revenue last year, why sell? I don't get it... (and I have 3 domains registered with them, my oldest since 2002 or so).

Definitely curious to see how all this turns out and what's going to happen.

I never actually visited godaddy for the commercials, took me almost 2 years to actually find out who they were.

something tells me if you have a billion dollars to spend on an domain name.... er business you can get those GoDaddy girls (or ones just like them :D) no problem

Never liked the way they operate. Hopefully whoever buys them cleans up their act a bit.

hope nothing changes... I have like 5 or 6 domains, email and hosting with them.

Maybe they realize that they aren't going to get much bigger, so sell while the gettin' is good?

I used to use GoDaddy. But then I found NameCheap.

GoDaddy is full of bloat and unnecessary crap, plus they use the tactic of showing boobs to get customers and have a pornstar (Danica) as their mascot.

NameCheap = Simple, straight to the point, and generally cheaper than GoDaddy. ;)

The only thing I like about GoDaddy is their 24/7 American support. Yes, you don't get someone with a thick southern or Mexican accent on the line when you need help (at least not from my experience). :p

I register all my domains with GoDaddy (im from Aus). Very cheap at $5AUD/year (with coupon). I have over 50 domains registered with them. Hope nothing changes

I still trust godaddy; I previously used a fly-by-night discount registrar like namecheap... it was great until they went out of business. Luckily enom ended up taking over for their customers. After that, I did some research and transferred my domains to godaddy.

At least with a company as big as godaddy, you know they aren't going anywhere overnight. ;)
