Quote of the Day

now you force me to make a custom tshirt that reads: "My other tshirt is my sweaty Metallica gaming tshirt." steve :)

The journalist's a little too sensitive. Perhaps McLean struck a little too close to home. Not to mention he entirely missed the mark in this paragraph:

That's what you're reducing a huge percentage of your audience to now - a one-liner gag to make the cheap-seats feel it's okay to waddle about in front of their television sets?

Hardcore gamers is a very tiny percentage of console gamers.

The author's comment rings very close to the recent "Extra Punctuation" article that had the following tagline on the homepage:

Not all gamers are sweaty manchildren playing games in the basement.

But when you do go to the next sizable lan, don't be surprised of the sweaty 30 year olds who are wearing what they think are catchy Atari themed t-shirts. You have been warned.

Beavis was 30???

I'm not sweaty... and I don't wear a shirt while I game.

I wonder what does that say about me.

Wow, they must have the satellite hovering right over my house. Time to pull out the tinfoil hat. Although, I'm 37, not 30, and I don't think my Metallica T-shirt is all that sweaty. It might smell a little, but it's certainly not sweaty.

hmmm, I'd say I'm a pretty hardcore gamer, 27, in shape, and I dress pretty fashionably. Then again, I am a PC gamer.

im 25. i wear thick-rimmed glasses, lotion my hands, and only shop at H&M. im a mac gamer. :D

a glaring mistake:

The gamer who listened to metallica when metallica was cool is 40 years old. not 30. 30 year olds missed out.

on another note: only 30-40 years until computers/consoles become standard equipment at retirement homes.

...29 and in a sweaty "Electrostatic" shirt. Damn, not with it.

fuck bingo at the retirement homes, where's my god danmed lan parties!?

We will be the first generation of old ppl playing WoW/Counter Strike 1.6 full-time when we retire. Young whipersnappers and their telepathic games.

That cliche is sooooooo 90's. Doesn't the author know that gaming is now for sweaty 40 year-olds in Metallica T-Shirts...??

Think of the music that will be coming from the old folks home in another 30 years..
and old people moshing,
