I just traded up to one of these processors at my local frys (San Marcos, CA)

On the wall they have the price listed at ~$160. When the guy looked it up in the computer I got it for $122.99

I thought I would let everyone know, this seems to be a good deal compared to what I have seen online

I picked up a 955be today and they tried to give me one that had been opened and re-shrink-wrapped. Don't know if that's common practice on the processor sales.

That sucks, at my local fry's they usually let you know if the processor is open box or not.

Common at Fry's in general.

I don't think they come shrink wrapped. When I got mine from newegg it had one holographic sticker that you had to break to open it. That would be a dead giveaway to me not to buy it since I don't think any of them come with shrink wrap, at least not any of the ones I got from newegg.

Pretty common at Fry's but they usually have the OPEN BOX sticker on them . Maybe the sales guy was trying to pull a fast one.

i've been buying them used for 110. have quite a few actually. this deal is ok ;)

I could use one of those Matrix563! Pass one on to the needy...me that is, lol.

Decent deal, I guess. I got a 945 and a really decent DDR3 Gigabyte board for $129 a while back. Not sure I would pay that much just for that particular chip.
