Ratpadz XT $25 w/Free Shipping

My XT came today and I'm really not sure what the difference between the GS and XT is. I measured them both with a caliper and the GS is .273" and the XT is .279". Other than that my GS is now 3 years old and the new XT is much slicker like the GS was when originally got it. I guess the XT will stay that way for longer. I love it and will buy one for my father at Xmas.

Yup, that's exactly it. The XT is made of a better material and will last much longer.

I have the XT and am loving it even after almost two years. I'm not sure I'll ever need another!

Got my XT, after a long time of awaiting delivery. Must say I don't feel that the tracking is a precise as my 5L.

We will buy it back and pay shipping so that you are out ZERO dollars should you decide you do not like it. The Ratpadz contact page is here should you wish to do that.

Just got mine. It does take a bit of getting used to as the plastic surface is much harder on my wrists and lower arm than my old cloth pad, but I think I'm really going to like this, especially in two years when it is just as good as it is now.

I have owned a Ratpadz since Kyle gave me and others one at the Eyefinity event in Dallas...after getting used to it i love this thing. it's tought built, doesn't move around on my desk thanks to some slamming rubber feet and can double as a murder weapon is used properly...heck it can probably stop a bullet if you are in a pinch and don't have a vest. give these mouse pads a shot...they are freaking durable and nice.
Also, the hard plastic makes it even better for gliding your fancy teflon feet.

as for any numb nuts that says the pad is not precise....do some research on the latest laser mouse tech...high end mice can detect the movement of an ant farting on glass suface. your point is BS...all in your head.

Thanks for the pad Kyle!

Awesome pad, but I really only recommend for gaming mice. I used a low end laptop mouse with it and its sensitivity jumped like crazy. It just worked too good lol.

I travel with mine every day. Just set it on top of your laptop and slide it into the bag.

I've had my XT for a while and it's a pretty good pad, but I'm getting tired of having to bend it back into shape every few days. It has an arch in the middle, and every time I bend the pad to get rid of it, it just ends up warping again after a while. Does anyone have some tips on how to get it to flatten out and stay flat?

Buy another one. Mine started to warp like yours after a few years, after trying to bend it back like you, I gave up and just bought a new one. I like the pad enough that it's worth it to me, just to get a new one every few years as needed.

I wanna say to some of the other comments, the XT is a whole different pad than the GS, it feels completely different, it's not just thicker. It's a much nicer pad, spend the difference!

I actually bought a different pad and I'm going to see how I like that one when it gets here. I don't plan on buying another XT just to get one that doesn't warp, anyway. I'd rather have to keep bending this one back into shape than spend $20 on a new one just to get rid of the issue.

How long have you had the XT?

Just bought my second GS. First one lasted like 4 years, then I moved and lost it.

A little less than two years.

Sell it back to us for full price and I will pay shipping.

We have about 6 to 8 people a year that are unhappy and we look to make them happy by never having to look at our product again. :) Just hit the Ratpadz Contact page, and tell Linda that Kyle sent you to give you a full refund on your purchase and we will pay shipping back too.

Mine kept warping so I bent it really really hard on a table and it hasn't warped since. This was like over a year ago.

I tried removing the rubber foot supporting the center of the pad. I'll see if that helps.

The pad does ok with heat, so long as we are not talking about HIGH heat, do you have a dish waster? If you put it inside one and use the heat dry cycle for a few mins it gets "soft" enough to bend (make sure you take the feet off), you can also use a high powered hairdryer or a low powered heat gun and heat it. Mine was slightly warped when I got it in the mail (109 Louisiana heat all day wile I was at work). Since I fixed mine it has been flat with no other trouble.

XT is now $25 shipped. Am I missing something or is the thread title just outdated?

Edit: how weird. It's $20 at checkout but listed at $25.

You are refunded shipping at checkout...hence free shipping.

just bit, my mouse pad bit the dirt..now lets see what this puppy can doo....KB accesories ftw.

After using the XT for about 6 months, gaming, surfing, etc, with the HTCP I'm here again to say this is a great mouse pad , I truly feel there is no point in buying anything BUT the XT . When I thought my ex-roommate had taken the XT with his HTCP  when he moved out I was pretty upset. Luckily though, he did not take it with him. ;)

Just finally decided to buy an XT. I had a GS somewhere back around 2000 or 2003ish? maybe? Anyway it wore out pretty fast.... but I liked the surface. I didn't like how thick it was though, and after that point went on a spree of extremely thin mousepads eventually moving from cloth back to plastic surfaces. My favorite pad up to this point has been the Func F-Series, but after a while most plastic surfaces I try develop wear spots which alter glide too much to be useful after some time.

So far I have had the XT for about 5 days. So far no wear, but we'll see how it holds up over the next couple months.

The surface is nice, gives you that smooth glide while maintaining plenty of friction-feedback which is what I like in a hard pad.

The only things I dislike about the pad are that I wish it came in a 30-40% larger size and, of course, the thickness.

Constant consistency of movement is the biggest issue I have with most mousepads; they develop wear spots too quick. If this thing stays completely consistent with almost no wear for multiple years like I i've listened to people say, but could never believe was really true, Then i've found a new permanent mousepad brand.... though I might see if I can mod it to to make it thinner! (Maybe sand it down to a thin piece, like a 1MM thick "surface" and then epoxy that piece into a countersunk thin metal frame?

Well, it was time for me to replace my Ratpadz GS that I purchased about 5 years ago. It is pretty worn out. Can't wait to get new one. Got myself Logitech MX518 sitting in a box to be tested out with GS :D lol

I got a ratpadz xt just wondering what state they are shipping from so I should have an idea when I'll get it. thanks

just ordered one XT... I'm interested on how it is, but mostly I ordered it for work since It looks easy to clean unlike the rubber backed cloth ones. plus Sometimes I have to share a part of my desk.

I bought what I think was one of the first run of Ratpadz (6? years ago. Still have it too for some reason) and it ground down to smooth in a month and my mouse started skipping like crazy (strange that a smooth surface compared to textured would do that since the mouse worked fine on my desk.)

Anyway, recently got a GS and it's holding up better. I've only had it for a week and, while under light I can see an area of wear developing, it should be a while before it's completely gone. Considering getting an XT but if it's much bigger than a GS I don't think it will fit on my desk.

If your first Ratpadz wore down in a month then it was a GS, not an original or XT. The XT is much more durable and I don't see any signs of wear on mine after two years of use. The XT is also about the same size as the GS.

Any hope for that larger pad that you hinted at a while back? :) My dream mouse pad.

Does not look like it will be a reality unless it is a very limited run. Working on it now. I would not count on it ever turning into a regular item.

I guess I wasn't thinking straight. Being a special order kind of thing and a smaller run would jump the price. But as BababooeyHTJ says it would be worth it. Count me in if you are trying to decide. Thanks Kyle!

Ill take one @ $50
Update: I'll take two, now... Go ahead and whip up a batch, Kyle.
