Does your history list work? I used that for a long time too.

platinum'd the MG36 last night, took 11 hours total which makes it the fastest weapon yet for me (excluding 500-kill weapons like handguns, etc). to anyone looking to rack up kills i suggest using the MG36. very fun weapon.

+1, the MG36 is a beauty alright. I extolled its virtues in this thread a long while back. Superb scope making it deadly accurate at medium/long range, surprisingly good firing from the hip and large clip.
Worst weapon I've found so far is the F2000, how many bullets to drop someone?!! Seems wildly inconsistent, 4 gold stars with it so far and my final Assault plat and it has been painful, annoying and making me rage more than any other gun.

The MG36 with the default sight feels better to use than most guns with ACOGs on them. It's really ridiculously accurate.
The F2000 is the worst gun in the game IMO. It does nothing better than any other assault rifle. If I wanted a CQB assault rifle I'd just take the AUG. I've platted every assault rifle except the F2000 and I can't bring myself to use it enough for even one gold star. It's just so damn useless. If it had a clip of maybe 40 rounds I could see myself using it much more.

dear god i could not agree more. for the assault class i've got the F2000 and AN-94 left. i've been working on the F2000 and it's been painful.
Glad you guys agree with me and it's not just me. When I do hit the target, bullets seem to bounce off the enemy almost as if they are wearing a kevlar vest!
The MG3 was similar before the buff (now it's awesome) , DICE would do well to give the F2000 some of that buff goodness and quickly too!
I have to agree as someone who has been on the receiving end of that more times than I can count.
The kill cam doesn't lie. Screw sniper rifles. This thing is where it's at.
Terrible gun. I find that I'm best when I'm using the assault class but I avoid that gun like the plague. I've noticed I rarely even see others using it.

As for the FS2000, I'm not a fan of it either.

The lack of commonality proves what a poor weapon it is. Why would you take the F2000 into battle, when there are far superior options available. You'd have to be mad or after a goal...
Another thing I detest about the weapon is the horrible sound it makes, sounds like someone urinating on corrugated metal, just sounds weedy and rather girly. Perhaps that's just me but I like a beefy sounding gun, feels like I'm doing more damage somehow

On the other hand, I'm going to say even more than snipers, the most prevalent thing I see out there is MG36 loaded medics just kicking everyone's asses including mine.
The few times I've dropped one of those guys and take their kits it's pretty friggin' remarkable to behold that setup because I'll probably never earn it on my own. I really get upset when I get killed once I've used that rig for a little bit.

very true. i like the way the F2000 sounds in MW2. it still sounds a little muted relative to other weapons, but has a nice distinct sound to it.

it's a great way to discover the effectiveness of new weapons you never bothered to use. for example when i worked through the handguns i discovered how awesome the MP-443 Grach is.

Am I doing myself a disservice by running everything on ultra, and hbao on. If looks great, but I am finding the camo almost blends in too well in the shadows. I have been talking to friends on Vent, and they say I run right by them on some maps, and I never see them. Would I be better served turning down the details a little bit so other players stand out more?

according to this review there's not much visual difference between HIGH and MED settings. i play on medium and don't have too much problem seeing people, aside from the occasional crafty bush-wookie
I keep my stuff at high/medium no fancy stuff dx9 to stay competitive, the in-game eye candy is distracting imo.

not sure about amount of dust, but I definitely don't get blinded by the bloom on a dust cloud
So has mine. I also can now remove the "run as admin" flag after the last patch. Have you tried re-installing, Kett?
I swear I am getting so fedup with getting crashes to desktop. It never fails in that it always seems to happen when I am doing really good. The game will freeze for a moment and then crash right to the desktop with no errors.
This is the only game I have that does this. Worst part is trying to get back onto the full server I like to play on. I can sit in the queue for 10-15 minutes. Soooooooooooo aggravating.

Wow, sorry to hear you are having so many prolblems. I found the game to be a little glitchy, but I have never had any of the problems you are talking about. Your system is much faster than mine, too... could you have a driver issue or something? I am sure you have tried to isolate the problem..... does the SP part run stably for you?
All I do is go to the browser, pick the game mode I want to play, select all regions, select the map I prefer, fire it up, set the lowest ping servers at the top and pick the best server with the lowest ping that's closest to what I want.
I have a few "regular" servers that I tend to rotate in and out of by happenstance simply by doing that. Their pings are always insane like in the mid 20s and it just works out great for me.
It works out to where I basically never play in a server with a ping higher than 50. I rarely if ever see lag of any kind. I never have crashes.

^^ Make sure you've done this. I've never had another crash like that again after doing that. This combined with what I wrote above has pretty much led to an all but "perfect" experience for me. YMMV
If this doesn't work for you we're back to things like: Check drivers, check for overheating, dial down eye candy, update BIOS, and stuff like that.

You would hope that you wouldn't have to reinstall a game after a patch to make it work right.
I just wish they would update PB and do something about the hacking. I named my soldier H4XonM4X like my TF2 char, and now I get banned from servers just for my name... Whats funny is when admins warn me to change my name or I'll be banned.... Or when Im kicking ass like usual, I get accused/banned for hacking. This plus the noob tubes/grenade spam and spray/pray medics sniping me from across the map are causing me to play less and less.

Please, I have been gaming online since the original AVP on 56k. I've always been good at FPS and during my CS/CSS/DOD days, it was almost a daily thing that I got banned for hacking. Would even play on friends comps at their houses to show them me getting banned. But getting banned based on my name is just retarded. Really wish i could go change it now since there are only a few low ping 24p servers and with the bans, the list is getting shorter. And 32p servers are just stupid. Nothing but 1/2 the team spamming noob tubes. If there are no 24 man servers open I wont even play as none of the maps are big enough for that # of players.
