It looks like Best Buy is offering a free invisibleSHIELD to all iPhone 4 owners, regardless whether you bought the phone there or not. Thanks to everyone that sent this one in.

It's hard to say for certain what exactly this flyer means, but it sure looks as if at least some iPhone 4 owners will be able to snatch a free invisibleSHIELD 4fix (valued at $9.99 or so) from their local Best Buy. Based on a number of tips that we've received, we're getting the impression that the yellow-tagged retailer could be handing out (and installing) completely free side coverings for any iPhone 4 owner that waltzes into a store.

Those articles should be read before posted. They are not free to ANYONE.

This program will be available free of charge, including installation, to anyone who purchased or will purchase an iPhone 4 from Best Buy and will be extended to all existing Reward Zone customers. The solution will also be available to the general public for the retail price $9.99, including installation.

I bought a couple of Zagg InvisibleShields for mine and my wife's EVO. These things SUCK ASS on a touch screen. They were great on a BlackBerry where you had a keyboard, but on the EVO it was terrible. Made Swyping suck, but I could deal with that, the fact that sometimes you could not actuate buttons at all was the deal breaker. I sent mine back for a refund yesterday.

Well the invisableshield for the front is a piece of crap. It dosn't cover the whole face of the phone leaving a small area around the edge exposed. I purchased one for my daughter's Iphone 4 for 19.99 @ BB and had them install it for 7 bucks, so if it screws up they get to reinstall it for nothing. Well, after 2 weeks it started to peelup and needs replacement already. Now I can just imagine the side shield that they are offering for free. Appears to be nothing more than a clear plastic sticker type material. Theres alot of little pieces to fall off with normal wear and tear. I just cant see how anyone would purchase this product. I still need to find out if Apple is going to reimburse me for the case. When it comes time to replace my Iphone 3G I think I'll be looking elsewhere unless they come with an updated model fixxing all thier fuckups.

Steinheil makes great screen protectors. i got some crystal ones from them for my htc incredible and it is flawless. did not affect my swyping in any way.

Some EVOs apparently have somewhat insensitive screens. I've not had any problems with the zagg on mine so far. (Oh goodness, please not another cell phone screen protector internet thread war!)

Did you mean to put everyone instead of anyone, because your quote contradicts what you said

Zagg invisibleSHIELD sucks on a touch screen device, at least that is my experience. I sent my two Zaggs back for a refund yesterday.)

and i would offer that the Zagg invisibleSHIELD absolutely does NOT suck at all, being the proud owner of a LG VX11000 enV Touch that was purchased back when launched over a year ago and Zagg skin immediately applied

my phone has nary a scratch to this day, has been dropped, keyed, pocketed with sharp objects, tossed across tables....and it looks good as new

and does not get in the way of the touch screen

will it affect touch screen sensitivity? YES if you put it on from the beginning you get used to it right away, if you have had a touch screen device for a while and get used to it and then decide to put it on you will say something like

I can't speak for everyone but I love my zagg invisishield. Have had no problems with use. Now if it does peel early I'll just get anotherone for free. I feel better knowing it is covered. And the free case from apple may be ignored. :)

i meant to add......my touch screen works perfectly fine, i just have to tap slightly harder

i just dont want what is a great product to get slammed because someone put this on the front page

the product does exactly what it says it will do, and if you put it on from the beginning you would never notice a difference

i would say a slightly less sensitive touch screen that you can get used to (assuming you dont immediately run out to get a refund) is worth having if your nice expensive touch screen device looks like new over a year later......but thats just me

Invisible shield sucks. Had one on my pre and it annoyed me to no end. Made my touch screen inaccurate and developed a yellowish tint to it after about a month. Also had an odd texture to it that never felt quite right.

Yeah it protects the screen but its not worth the hassle.

Your whole post is full of nothing but contradictions. You say it has a negative affect on the phone then say you will never notice a difference as long as you dont use the phone first?

Thats some of the worst reasoning i have heard. Of course you wont notice a difference if its all you know.

Maybe it is the phone. I found the original iPhone to be so slick I couldn't put it between my legs in the car or it would end up on the floor all the time. After I got the shield it was better IMHO. Yes it cuts the sensitivity a bit, but on my 3G it works great for me. I would have to check the phone's sensitivity before I bought it because I love the fact that it keeps the phone at it's original size. I hate those cases that add an inch to what was a small phone that would fit in your pocket.

I guess Kyle is just used to his Ratpadz ultra-slickness and expects all surfaces to be that slick! :D

The invisible shield has worked fine on my Samsung Omnia and iPod Touch. No issues. The one on the Omnia started to discolor in one corner prematurely, but it still worked fine and protected the screen. You gotta register to get the lifetime warranty though. Pffft... !

InvisibleShield is shit. Looks like shit, installs like shit, tracks like shit. I am much happier with the 99 cent protector I ordered form a Chinese vendor on ebay.

Ive had ivisishields on my iphone 3G and 3GS.... never had any issues and there is a local kiosk near my apple store... Free shields whenever I want... not too bad.

thats right chief, think before you speak, if you put it on the day you get the device you will never notice the difference between with and without, the device is still perfectly usable with it on, you just dont miss the fact that you could use a lighter touch with it, its a fair trade off, a like new device over a year later in exchange for having to touch slightly firmer.

Its just really stupid reasoning, gaylord.

If you change anything on an item before you use it you wont notice how much it sucks, durp durp.
