And microsd are at 32GB.
just need 4 microsd and it can be bigger space than a bluray and use up less psychical space!

So why is cd still existing?

Why are they even bothering? Just give me a download. Is this for old people that can't get over the hump about using physical media to watch something?

Naw, its just that BD is the best image quality, nothing online matches it right not. 150GB, yeah, 99.9% of the people in the US can't begin to touch that with their connections, I know I can't.

Streaming video is fine if your sporting a 20" TV using built-in sound. For those of us with larger TV's and multi-channel AVRs, disc is the only way to go. Also, ask the people in rural areas how their internet runs and they'll say 'Like a one-legged dog.'

So does this explain the price drop in blu-ray players? We'll need new ones to support this xl thing? If so, good luck there to them.

Plus the only thing I agree optical storage is dead in is to be used as backups. Cheaper and more reliable to just buy terrabyte hard drives. I gave up that mugs game of backing up to cd/dvd last year.

by the time there will be a use for a 100g disc blu-ray won't be around

If the buffer underrun protection failed or some other error happened while burning one of these, I'd be pissed.

Oh and, you cant SELL or COLLECT download movies.

THis seems to be based on the 33gb blu ray layers, which apparently just needs a firmware update.
The drop is prices is proabably some economies of scale crap.

I know I'm being silly but I'm just not interested in this type of media format.
