EVGA B Stock back for a bit

Says it comes with no accessories, but does it at least come with the i/o backplate?

Too bad the 730 and 750 motherboards seem to be bad. I was hoping for a replacement for my 680i.

Ehh, My friend has a 750, and that is saddly loads better then my 680i sli... his can at least over clock where mine cant overclock anything. But, i also dont think its worth the cost this late in the game to upgrade your mobo to another s775.

Can be good for people like me who have multiple quality s775 processors and a couple bad or goofy boards.

The 750i is a great board. I have the non-FTW version and it works like a champ. The only problem is that EVGA never updated the BIOS for it, only the FTW.

Hmm is it worth buying one of those Evga X58 mobos for a future i7 build?

With the way PC games have been lately, I see my measly e8400 lasting for another couple of years. :D

one can only guess what the "B" in B-stock truly means..

a rumor exists that it rhymes with Pool. And eVGA mistakenly prints "F" as "B"

How are these NVTV dual tuners? I've read both good and bad things, but they're so cheap here.
EDIT: Says Comcast's DTAs work with PC tuners when using an IR blaster, but I can't seem to find any cheap USB IR Blasters. Perhaps this post deserved its own topic...

OK - I bit on an X58 SLI... how did I justify my upgrade from s775 to LGA 1366?

- I was going to buy a 4-port SATA controller to add to my X38 mobo's existing 6-SATA.
- This board has 10 SATA to begin with, thus I won't have to add another card and completely cramp my case

- I can sell my old parts or give them to my dad, or re-purpose them elsewhere. I really do have uses for the parts, honest!

That's it...

Now - why am I a fool for investing in eVGA's B-stock? Any known horror stories? Or do these parts have a reputation for failure of which I'm unaware?

The big gamble, like any refurb or open box item, is that you don't know why the one you are getting was added to the B-stock. It could be one returned to EVGA due to defects that they refurbished, it could be an item returned for a step-up, or it could just be something returned to them because a customer didn't want it.

In any case, they're cheaper than dirt and have a 90 day warranty. 95% of the problems will come up within the first 90 days. I remember paying over 250$ for my 780i (shudder) and there's a 790i for 65$. Most of those things are a steal at those prices and well worth the higher risk of a return.

yea as long as you know what you're heading in to, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on one of these deals. In 90 days you'll have beat on it enough to detect any issues, I would think.

got the LE. I had a hard time deciding between the LE and the X58 SLI, what are your guys' thoughts? I actually thought the LE made more sense to me. I don't need an onboard firewire header, or the extra LAN port. I can live without PATA, although i do have some drives...

SLI on the LE runs at x8 that is what made me go with the 3way SLI since it does x16 on SLI and x8 on 3 way. I really hope I don't run into any issues lol I'd hate to have to go and spend $200+ on a good X58 board.

BTW You get the older revision boards so a BIOS update is probably needed.

Interesting, you'd think that'd be a good thing to mention on the product page. It's ok, though. I'm not doing anything with SLI :)

I bit. Don't really need one, but an LE for $88 shipped after tax, i couldn't resist. Hopefully I can find another hiding place for my latest "must have".;)

Absolutely! That mb was the premeir overclocker of it's day and is still one of the best ever produced for the i7 line up. A freakin steal at that price.

Freaking awesome price, for sure. I have the X58 tri SLI. Been running it with a 920 at 4.0GHz on air for over a year now. Insane stability, great temps, and just a fantastic overclocking experience overall. Not to mention the good Intel storage controller and overall expansion options available. I even like the board layout. $99 is almost worth it to have a spare handy when my warranty runs out!

Haha that's good to hear although I would've just bought it and not used it for a while until I moved over to i7. Don't know if that would be smart or not given the 90 day warranty.

Hence why I'm eager to get my parts in and test this board out :(

I went ahead and picked up the x58 sli for a second i7 build, and the 750i ftw to replace my current htpc. Hopefully I wont have any problems.

Do want FX 5600 Ultra for 9 bucks! :p

If it was a 5950 ultra with the leaf blower, I would be all over it just for old times sake.

I was thinking of picking up an x58 mobo for a spare desktop build but I'm not sure I would have the ram and cpu in time to test it out :(

Mine just showed up. It comes with a back plate, Driver CD, and 20% off sims 3 coupon! wooo! lol

Looks pretty much new minus a few scratches on the CPU latch. No bent pins.

my LE just showed up today in sealed white box. Mobo in a antistatic plastic shell and I/O shield included. No manual, cables or anything else though. Will inspect closely later tonight.

My buddy has a 750i FTW board and it has been awesome, he bought it at launch and it's still chugging along great like the day he bought it
