Looking for some fresh input.
I am debating how i continue doing ESET installs and thought i would ask some advice. I know there is some resellers here on the same boat as myself so might be good to see what comes up.

Anyway, typically i would resell Smart Security, Anti-Spam, firewall, blah blah, seems to work ok but recently ive had loads of trouble with the firewall.

So my debate is for i go windows firewall and ESET anti-virus. or stick with smart security.
Most install and behind routers with built in firewall so thought i would seek some advice.

Cheers guys.

ESET AV + Windows FW is my choice for running things on my M$ machines. I have had issues with Smart Security firewall before as well.

I stay away from ESS, I stick with NOD32 (just the pure AV).
Not crazy about the spam filter in ESS, we use other products for spam filtering (usually Untangle)
Never fond of 3rd party software firewalls, all my clients networks are behind NAT, and I control the Windows firewall through group policy.

I avoid ESS now too. After testing out the firewall and filtering aspect in all modes I just didn't like the way it worked. I had to create a lot of manual rules because ESS would out right block everything and learning or interactive just didn't cut it. For most users that become really confusing if they don't know how to properly manage new exceptions.

Use the regular AV and use Windows Firewall like other have said. If you are not in a domain environment and cannot use Group Policy to set the Firewall exceptions on all computers you can create a script using the NETSH command that you can run locally to automatically add all your exceptions.
