The best thing about buying furniture at Costco (besides its reasonable pricing) is the 2-year, no questions, warranty :D

Nothing drastically different since the last time I posted, except that I redid all of my cable management. Oh, and the bansai tree is a new addition.

Previously, the cables were all zip-tied, which works, but it's definitely a pain when it comes time to add or remove a cable. Plus, some of the cables were hanging down a bit so that they were visible, which started to bug me, haha. Finally got a bunch of velcro cable wraps, so I redid all the cables from scratch using them. Much better now. :)

^ Tried to get one to show the back of the desk, though it's not the greatest pic.

Woah, nice job on the cables! I really like the DIY power strip shelf and clippy lamp as well. where did you get that lamp? I've been looking around for something like that for a while at the local wally world and such with no luck on that style of lamp.
Currently all I have is a "natural light" desk lamp aimed at the ceiling that does exactly what your lamp does... soft ambient light

Thanks. :)

I got the lamp at Lowes. It's a Portfolio Clip-On Lamp. For a bulb, I'm using a Bright Effects Daylight CFL Bulb from there as well. Got a 4-pack of them for cheap. Can't remember the exact price as it was a while back. Work great for bias lighting as they're 6500k.

My desk, complete with Eyefinity and Philips amBX backlights (not turned on in this photo) behind the monitors.

Wow, unknown you really got a "dream desk" there, looking excellent! WOuld love to see the backlights turned on.

I actually made a quick video with the lights in action, playing back the intro to Cowboy Bebop.

It didn't show up on video as well as I had hoped (the lighting is far brighter in person), but here it is anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExNXfaktHvs

The lights work really well with games, with all three monitors displaying the game and the amBX lights extending things onto the wall.

^^^That's awesomeness, @le . . . Friends with French closed captioning followed by David Hasselhoff! That's Must See TV!

That's, uh, Dan Marino...

You can plainly see Ace Ventura next to him. The hair and Hawaiian shirt are dead give-a-way's.

Oh, my bad - you're right. It IS Marino. I just took a quick glance and thought it was Hasselhoff. Eerily similar if you don't look closely!

Some great posts on this page.

I've got some big stuff in the works. Here's a sneak peak....again.

They are 20 inches. No that big, but they are glossy IPS monitors which look awesome and work well for me.

I like the swans speakers for everything, gaming, movies, and music. They sound very clean and I like the way my music sounds through them. They're not the best, but way ahead of logitech and all the main stream computer speakers. However, some may find the bass lacking, but I find it punchy and good enough for me.

^^ Love the furniture / cabinetry. Specifically the armoir with the crotch mahogany....thats right people, its called crotch mahogany (Insert jokes here). Looks amazing.

My current messy setup.

30" NEC 3090 flanked by 22" NEC P221w's. Left most monitor is for my server/cruncher. Desk is a mess because we are in the process of moving and I packed up my ABS Black Pearl already.

Hmmm, might want to put some foam or something in between the HD's. I've got a similar setup right now I have just have the hd's sitting on esd bags with bubblewrap in between.

I have rubber bumpers in between each one with a fan blowing on them. Don't worry I know they can get hot.

Wait, did I get this right -- you're moving case separately from the guts it's supposed to house?

Yes. I have all the original boxes for all my parts. It is not that safe to transport $1500 worth of parts cross-country in a case anyway. I want my 5870 and GTX2's to be in a nice safe, cool place.
