Hard Drives not detected

Hey guys just put a new build together and for some reason it is not detecting my hard drives. I am using a p6x58 mobo and the intel 80gb ssd and a wd 1tb for storage. I tried my old raptor drive from another pc and boots right into windows.

Any ideas?

Are these brand new drives? If so, you might need to enable them through Disk Management and create partitions. If not, sounds weird. Check if there are any jumpers set. I'm not familiar with SSDs so someone else might chime in on that.
 
yea they are brand new. They don't even show in windows when i boot from an old drive. I just can't believe if both of them are trash.
 
Have you tried switching the ports. 6 ports are intel the rest are some other controller.
