Hi. I have to say reading this article makes me even more giddy about switching over to Sprint and owning my very first smart phone, the HTC Evo This Friday.

I canceled 2 lines that I had with Verizon, I had an absolute prepay style phone, and Verizon would not let me upgrade to the Incredible until the end of August.

I Didn't expect Verizon to do this so fast ...

Woot! if you have a Pre-Order. Only 6 more days!

Woot!

Well that basically just screws the pooch now don't it. Damn... was actually considering one but, I guess I'll just wait for some indefinite period of time to pass and see what happens with another provider.

RS Preorder, in a mall though so I have to wait until 10:00am. have taken a vacation day so...

w00t!

R/S pre order for me too, I cant wait:D opens at 9:00 am. I think I'll add the $20 I get from R/S to a 16Gb memory card ;)

I'm getting my Evo on Friday. I'm waking up at 5am to get there a hour or two before the store opens. I can not wait... the days seem longer for some reason.

Fixed :)

I wish I still had vacation days left. :( I will have to setup and play with my new phone while I'm at work, I 'm thinking I'll need to hide in the bathroom or something just so people will leave me alone with my new precious.

i'm I'm vegas on friday (a 4g area) and pickup my evo on saturday in minneapolis (non 4g). kinda backwards lol.

How much do you actually use in a month? I bet it's not that much. Whenever I read about the current caps (5gb seems to be the norm) that providers have they always quote some figure like 2% of users actually reaching that level. In a perfect world I would pay for what I use and nothing more and it would be cheaper than an unlimited plan. But that won't happen.

Even if the cost for data were to be a fraction of a penny per MB I would still in the back of my mind, equate all useless data as a loss of money. Going back to pay per MB feels like a step backwards to me in terms of moving forward with consumer interests / benefits, remember AoL?

In a perfect world, imo, we would have one super low monthly payment with access to unlimited data. Information needs to be as free as possible. The key words are super low for unlimited data.

Got my pre-order at RS but I'm not going to be able to pick it up until 4PM... Grr.

bb is giving 1000 bb points on sunday if u can wait.

I read on other forums that there are certain BB's that are giving away Wireless Bluetooth headsets, and some BB's having some type of package deals. I called my local BB where I pre-ordered my Evo and they said that they were opening normal hours and were not having any promotions since the others that I heard online were store specific promotions. I then asked if I had to goto the BB where I pre-oredered to pick up my phone and he said that a phone is guaranteed for me there but I am free to pick one up at any BB. I might call around to the big city BB's and see if they can lure me to their store instead.

Feels great when i got my EVO 4G from the Google Conference IO already, FREE unlimited everything till June 20th FTW!

I hate you. I've been using my ancient Sanyo M1 flip phone (battery lasts about 30 minute talk time) for over a month now after selling my touch pro in anticipation of the Evo.

He was talking about Verizon, not Sprint?

I got mine already ;) Love this phone, hands down best phone I've owned. Thats saying a lot, considering I never thought I'd stray away from my blackberry.

Same place I got mine! Crazy they'd just be giving those out. Although, admission is kind of steep ;) Its cool its free, but I wanted to cancel my plan with AT&T and port my number over. Unfortunately I can't do that until Google disconnects the number attached to it (already went to Sprint and tried).

PICS PLZ....

Man... I have a feeling this phone is going to feel huge in my hands. Looks like a beast How do you like it as far as mobility/size goes so far... how does it feel putting it into your pocket and taking it around?

damnit toonie i officially hate you. until august that is. I was speaking with my friend who has a droid and he was telling me about the battery life of these phones and he said they werent too spectacular. Since they are capable of doing everything. My question to you is, are you using the phone normally, if so how is the battery? If you are still in that honeymoon phase, then you are constantly playing with the phone and that will eat the battery. But i want to know how is it under normal use.

OMG I had the worst dream. In the dream I got my Evo but it was HUGE. Like iPad size.

I tried to hold it up to my head to talk and I felt retarded. I really hope this isn't a sign....

The EVO is awesome! compare to my ancient G1. It looks BIG but trust me, this thing is well worth it! the screen is a beaut! I can't even feel the phone at all in my pocket due to its flat size. Sometimes i would freak out thinking that it slip out because its barely noticable in my pocket. My G1 on the other hand is heavier and noticable in my pocket. Battery life is ok, not much of a difference compare to my G1.... if you're a conservative type that turns off the features when its not need, it can last you close to the whole day. Honestly, I can't stop playing with the phone, no lag, fast 3G connection compare to tmobile's 3G.... what can i say??? i'm addicted to FAST!!. I thought I would hate the touchscreen keyboard because i'm a G1 keyboard user but since receiving this smartphone, i'm a touchscreen kb lover now :) . . . call quality is better definitely, better signal overall on sprint than tmobile(tested different location), There's really nothing to not like about the phone other than no 2.2 Froyo yet :( . Best part about everything is, it was FREE ;)

For the folks worried about size-- its not that much bigger than a blackberry bold, and feels way sleeker in hand. Not really an issue IMO.

Oh my .... What big Screen you have

Can you charge your phone via Bluetooth?

dropped by the sprint in the mall today and they had one.evo it was bigger then i thought. Loved it though. Put her on the kickstand right away. Opening the camera and seeing that giant view finder was sweet. Now i need to get one on reserve if they aren't all gone.

Coming to android 2.3, code name Parfait.

Being released simultaneously with Google T-ISP

:p can't wait.

I guess battery life won't be a big problem as long you disable some stuff featured in the phone. I've read blogs of people getting a full days worth 12 hours use without having to re-charge the battery.

My first Blue Tooth device, let alone my very first smart phone. :D

Almost 3 days left!

Wow buddy... You are failing harder and harder...

Got a call earlier today from my RadioShack confirming my pick-up time for the pre-order. I can't wait. It's going to be excruciating waiting until Friday.:D:D:D

got my pre-order in at BB. Going to have to wait til 5:30 because I'm merging onto a family plan and they need an appointment to do that :(

It's going to be a long day Friday...

Called both bestbuys. Both presold way more then they got they told me. I then called RS and they said they wont have any for non preordered. Called 3 sprints, they said get in line about 5am friday if i want to attempt to get one first come first serve. Guess ill wait. Looks like ill get what ever is better then the EVO before the EVO is available to me in this area.

The bb lady laughed when i asked and said i didn't have a preorder. She said call again in about a month.
