Took me a minute, but I C what you did there.


Everyday I walk by a mockup of Jack Kilby's office where he drew up one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century. And there is a sign there that reminds me of how stupid people are getting.

Jack Kilby invented the integrated transistor in 1958. This one invention completely changed almost every single facet of life in every corner of the world (and beyond). In 2000 he was given a Nobel Prize (Physics). 42 years later.

President Obama said some nice things about the rest of the world, and gets picked for a Nobel Prize (Peace) 2 weeks later.
 
What is wrong with these people? The transistor is not even on, Neither is such things that Nikola Tesla invented such as radio frequency, or the nuclear bomb (Which modernized life a ton), and they have the nerve to call us American stupid?

Maybe the Brits should quit getting their nails done and read a book.

That would have a bit more impact if you didn't just claim that Tesla invented radio frequency, lol
 
At first I was thinking 'maybe it's "IT/tech inventions"' then I thought 'maybe it's "inventions of the last ten years".' I knew America had managed to export obesity to the UK but apparently there's a brisk trade in stupidity and superficial simplistic thinking too. So many of those things are evolutionary inventions not fundamental ones. I suppose it being a 'Tesco Mobile' survey skews things a bit but still..

I am shocked, although perhaps I shouldn't be, that WRITING/WRITTEN LANGUAGE wasn't mentioned at all. That's my #1 human invention of all time and I doubt it will ever be knocked off that perch.

Oh, and nuclear bombs helped becaused the missles used to blast nuclear bombs were later used to launch spacecraft into space. We owe more to the nuke then the microchip.

Funny you should say that...Most every high tech advance such as you listed above came from a foreign scientist who happenned to be allowed to work IN America. (Most were German, including the inventor os the Transistor, except he was actually in Canada when he invented it).

Inventing the radio does not mean you invented radio frequency. The big bang invented radio frequency.

Aren't you forgetting that nuclear fusion in itself has revitalized our energy production? Forget missiles....
