I know many of us are looking for an IPS glossy display that is 1080p and does not have the negatives of Apple 24" (price, connectivity and warranty).

Well, the wait is over (or at least, soon it will be) , look at this new model by Mitsubishi :

I don't think I've seen a mitsubishi LCD in a while, if ever. Successor to the Diamontron!
 
Mitsubishi only sells monitors in Japan, and Japan already has another glossy IPS: Hyundai W241DG

It's not glossy? it's very similar to the Dell 2209WA.

I investigated the Fujitsu to buy in the UK, but it looks like it may be discontinued. The tiny number of UK retailers who list it in their catalogue want the equivalent of $500-$600 for it, which is just insane. It looks like a continental EU product only, and a few online retailers have it for an OK price (similar to 2209WA) but at this point I think Dell & HP have better alternatives anyway, and there are no alternatives without the grainy anti-glare coat.

Well, I've never heard of a Mitsubishi LCD either but in CRTs it was the king after Eizo, the 930 was a great CRT with diamondtron tube (even though I bought the Samsung equivalent 959NF at the time due to price).

The thing is, I want a 16:9 IPS and love glossy, and I was ready to buy the NEC but it's slightly expensive in my area. Then last week the Dell equivalent (u2311h) was anounced and I expect it to be around 20% cheaper so it should be great, only missing the glossy part...

Think I should wait in case the Mitsu comes to Europe, or go for the Dell?

Yeah, I meant Hyundai. Got my H names confused. Mitsubishi monitors haven't been sold outside of Japan in a long time, so I don't see the point of waiting. There's a small chance some other company might come out with a monitor with the glossy panel, but that might not happen for a long time, if it happens at all.
 
Damn I would love to own that Mitsubishi

Why is it only the japanese knows our needs ?

If you are really desperate for one of the Mitsubishi displays you can use a service like PriceJapan to buy it for you and ship it outside Japan.

You pay best item cost according a Japanese price search engine, plus shipping, plus 5% or 4000 yen commission (whichever is more) plus your own country's customs duty and handling charges. It's quite useful for buying some unique and interesting Japan only products, but pretty high risk and expensive for a monitor - it will have all the uniformity issues suffered by IPS displays and all panel types still have dead pixels sometimes.

the big problem is the Customs.
This thing that would easily cost kinda expensive compared to the dell display, the Greek customs would impose a ridiculous tax on it , like 40% and then it really exceeds the price premium that I am willing to pay not to compromise on the glossy part.
Not to mention I won't have warranty (sending and paying shipping costs to Japan is not really smart) so it suddenly becomes even worse than the Apple cinema situation that has a bad price and a bad warranty (1 year)...

Unless it can be found somewhere in Europe, there is no point at all...

Exactly no shitty grainy AG coating. Again why is Apple + Mitsubishi the only ones who understand this ??

Sorry just so frustrated that it's impossible to obtain the monitor I dream about regardless of price.

I just want: 24"- 26",1920 x 1200/1080, H-ips, LED backlit, 120hz, zero-inputlag, NO scaler, Glossy coating. How hard can it be ?

For that I would pay. Hmm 2500$
 
I love the nec 20wmgx2, and still using two (refurb from nec for around $150 each during their sale). I had a 24" mva panel before which was 1920x1200, and definitely miss it over the 1680x1050 resolution of the nec. I thought I wouldn't like glossy, but they just look so great on the nec. I'd love for a higher resolution version.

I dont know much about mitsubishi displays, but I wish I could see one in person. They would probably cost a lot though id assume...
