So why does Lian Li always proudly advertise that their cases are made in Taiwan as if it's something special? Last I checked, Taiwan is not Italy.

Between Lian Li's horrible english on their site and dumb marketing, they're pretty hilarious.

Umm... I don't own a Lian Li case, but last time I checked, they make cases and case accessories; they're not majored in English or a marketing company like Bose. If you don't like their cases, buy another brand. If you don't like their grammar, go apply a job for them as a web editor.

Taiwan has been known for high quality manufacturing for many years now. This isn't the 1980s anymore.

They have several universities known for producing excellent high-tech talant and post-doctoral research.

The Taiwanese gov't has been instrumental in organizing their country for an R&D type of environment....

Almost everything exported for sale is regulated and tested for high QC.

Unlike mainland China where pretty much anything goes (and does).

Oh and Silverstone cases are made in China.

Did not know that.

I know. Silverstone proudly wrote it on the motherboard tray of the ft02 and in big letters. Pretty annoying.

Regardless of where its made, I think it shows that they take pride in their work. Lian Li is only further emphasizing that Taiwan can produce high quality goods.

FYI, I owned a fair share of Lian Li cases, so I'm not some hater. I just find it funny they always advertise it's made in taiwan.

+1

...oh and Lian Li cases are of epic quality, functionality, and to me at least, very aesthetically pleasing with a few exceptions. My next case will be Lian Li as well :D

I had a Lian-li, the material quality was top notch, but the cable management, tooling for screws and the ease of installation was very very hard. They have good ideas, just not a lot of focus. They launch so many variations of the same case.

they've improved when it comes to that. Some of their cases don't even require any kind of tool to assemble a PC in.

Lian Li makes quality cases. I have owned a great number of their cases. Even their 10 year old cases are made with the same quality as the ones you buy today. Don't hate Taiwan because they used to make shitty products 30 years ago. BTW: All your GPU chips comes from Taiwan. Read up on TSMC and UMC.

What kind of Jingoistic bullshit is this anyway?

I really don't like your insinuation that somehow something made in Taiwan by a company BASED in Taiwan is bad, or somehow implies that it is cheap.

To me its a clear advantage and great for the customers, that they launch many variations.

Installation with the case I have was very very easy, no real cable management, but its an old case (PC82) and it wasnt really something they had started implementing at that point.

Omerta,

Most don't care where the product is made before buying. I can't remember the last time i was on newegg, tracking down where it was made, and making it a deciding factor for buying the product. If the price is right and its a good quality product, you're are gonna buy it.

Lian Li is a proven Company with high end quality cases.Their name speaks for itself, regardless of where its made.

China makes a shit load of cheap products too,but obviously, that didn't stop you from buying a Silverstone case, now did it?

Take a chill pill Mr. Grumpy. That wasn't what I was saying. Most of the shit in our PC is made in asia, isn't it?

Now back to the point for someone who obviously didn't understand it. Imagine there was a new product out by a company, and they wanted to advertise it here on TV, you think the first thing the ad would say is "FINEST QUALITY MADE IN TAIWAN?" Nope because being made in Taiwan is not a selling point to people in the USA, and the general perception here is that Taiwan basically is China. Now if a company were to say "made right here in the USA" or "made in italy," then maybe it would be a selling point. Get it? Lian Li's marketing is just funny.

I've owned Lian Li cases, Coolermaster Cases, Antec Cases, Silverstone Cases, and a thermaltake case for a short while. Obviously Lian Li being made in taiwan did not stop me from buying their cases. I've owned MULTIPLE lian li cases. I made this thread cause I was looking up the pc-p50r and found it funny Lian Li was advertising it's made in taiwan in a video.

I'm lol-ing at all the people talking to Omerta like he's a case-noob.

He probably goes through more cases in a year than we will in a decade! =P.

Given that most people would assume that a company with a Chinese name would have products made in mainland China, having a product "made in Taiwan" is a definite plus. It's 2010, made in Taiwan (or Korea, for that matter. Think Samsung) is a sign of quality. I would think especially so for computer equipment considering every major motherboard manufacturer is Taiwanese.

"Finest Quality Craftsmanship made in Taiwan"

That is a bit funny. I see how one would think of that phrase as an oxymoron.

Also, Samsung is a Taiwanese company.

As much as I love Samsung, this doesn't really help Lian Li's case here in this thread. On the other hand, it clearly doesn't need any help since it seems this community knows what's up when it comes to LiLi!

Between this and the Eminem thread, Omerta is becoming the next "The Buzzer".
