I'm folding on the machine in my sig with the SMP client installed per the instructions in the sticky. IT seems to run and process but do so very very slowly. I'm averaging about 40 minutes per % of work. Here's everything from my log. this includes a few restarts while trying new settings on my shortcut.

Anybody have any ideas? At this rate FahSpy says that it'll be done on the 15th and will average me about 50ppd?
 
Check your windows task manager.

If CPU utilization is not at 100% then something is wrong. My 955 BE at 3.4Ghz get's between 5,500 and 6,000 PPD.

I'm working on this unit right now at about 21:00 time-per-frame.

If CPU utilization is not 100% with an A3 work unit, change your -smp flag to -smp 4, and try again. This is to ensure it sees 4 cores. If CPU utilization goes up to 100% you are good to go. You can also use -smp 3 if you want to leave a core "free".

Also make sure that you followed the guide and correctly installed MPICH using the install.bat file from the folding client directory first. If you did it correctly you will see the following:

Is it useing four cores? Try adding the -smp 4 tag instead of -smp 3, the first log has 32min tpf's. 40 min seems a little long but what Ghz is you CPU runnig at? I would have thought it would be less than 30min per frame but I guess the original Phenoms suck for folding. Thats one of the giant a3 WU's.
 
are you using the phenom I 9550 to fold with? if so these numbers are probably correct.. also check in cpu-z that the system isnt throttling.. but the phenom I's are junk when it comes to F@H..
 
I followed the guide to the letter and used the install.bat. I'll add the 4 on the shortcut flag.

The CPU is the 9550 and is running at stock speeds.
 
I'm pretty sure the 6041 is one of the slow wu's too. I can run 5:45 a frame on a regular unit but fall to over 20 minutes a frame on a 6041. They take me two days to finish on my 720BE with the 4th core running. Seems like they need to redo the points system for them.
 
2.2 GHz x 4 cores - unfortunately, that sounds about right. My 9950 (2.6) was well over 30 minutes folding these big A3's.
 
Project 6041 is a bigger WU than normal, it takes about 2.5-3x longer per frame than the normal ones.
 
Tossed my new boxen together. Which is replacing my Phenom. Ive got an i7 920 now on stock clocks with an asrock motherboard, 6gb ram, and my 9800GX2 finally appears to be working. I didnt reinstall Windows so ive got my same WU that i was working. My i7 is processing this work unit about twice as fast as my old phenom. 5minutes per % as opposed to ~10. Now to download the GPU client and get going. I'll work on all that tomorrow. Thanks for your help guys.

Heh, are you planning on overclocking that processor? You will really improve your TPF's even with a mild overclock like me on my 930. You'll need a good cooler first though.
 
I'm running a Thermaltake Frio. Should be cool enough. I'll work on overclocking tomorrow. A little too tired to mess with it for now.
