Difference between XFX HD-587X-ZNFC and XFX HD-587A-ZNF9

One is PCI Express 2.0 and the other is 2.1.

I dont think right now there is any difference.

Anyone with the HD-587X-ZNFC model?

Is it worth the extra ~$10 ?

Yea, I would like to know the difference as well. Did the HD-587A-ZNF9 have volt control? Or is the HD-587X-ZNFC cooler or quieter?

Obvious difference is reference design versus the "new" fan design. From reports I've read, only the reference models can have their firmware flashed to allow a higher voltage and thus a MUCH higher overclock.

The ZNF9 is the original version with the squirrel cage fan that exhausts out the back. They're getting quite hard to find now. The ZNFC is the revised model that a lot of brands seem to be switching to (new reference board?). It can be distinguished by the large fan in the middle of the cooler, the power plugs on the back end of the board rather than the side, and it's slightly shorter. There seems to be some debate about whether these revised boards support software voltage changes. At least some seem to have that chip removed, while others have said that they had no problem changing the voltage via software. It seems like the design of the new cooler should be quieter, but I've seen several people report them as louder.
