Hello, I have a virus that I picked up from school. As soon as you plug any flash drive in, it installs itself on the drive. When I plug the drive into any computer, the virus auto installs on the machine I plug it into. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a solution to remove and prevent this from happening?

Avira didnt pick anything up.

Plug it into a Linux PC, move the files you want off of it, reformat and copy the files back.

nice.... it really isn't that hard to get rid of... you can either use a real scanner like SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes, Dr.WebCureIT, Trojan Remover, or MS Security Essentials.

Any of those will pick it up. Or you can delete it yourself by disabling autorun, deleting autorun.inf and whatever autorun.inf is calling.

Confucker ran around my school the exact same way infecting flash drives. Ruined my capstone project and had to start from scratch too. I really didn't think I had to worry about that crap on installs that didn't even have internet access. Lesson learned.

However MSE ended up picking it up and cleaned the flash drive with all data still in tact
