It's listed in San Jose and in Dallas so it's pretty much chain-wide.

The SKU number (6231310) doesn't come up on the website so this is an in-store special only. Considering that it's probably the 7K500 model it's going to be screamingly fast in any laptop and offer tons of space.

It was just on sale the other day for $64 and now it's $20 less, amazing. Doesn't say if it's a refurb at all but I'm going to seriously doubt it - I've never seen refurbs from Hitachi at Fry's, ever. Western Digital, all the time, even Seagates and Maxtors, but never Hitachi's so these are most likely brand new drives.

And here I am broke again... and it's my 5th wedding anniversary so any money I might have used just went towards a dinner tonight for the Wife and I.

Crap. :)

DO WANT. I'd get two and raid them for grins. Dammit Fry's, come to the East Coast.

True Image, or Disk Director standalone (it's actually part of the True Image suite nowadays). If not that then use the software that comes with the drive or download it from the manufacturer. Seagate/Maxtor and Western Digital actually offer stripped down versions of True Image for free now for use with their drives.

I can't edit the title, if a Mod comes along and reads this and wouldn't mind adding B&M to it I'd appreciate it. But I did make mention that it's an in-store special only in the post...

how would this compare to a regular 3.5 hard drive? i had my community usage computer's reg hard drive crap out on me and i wouldn't mind just buying one of these to keep down electricty cost and whatnot

why are you going to raid laptop driveS? id buy one if i was near frys glad im not tho or id be buying more stuff than i need every week

This is BS, they sold out of this drive before they even opened.

Tempe AZ store.

it is not a 2.5" drive it is a 3.5" drive. I work there, I put the sign up last night. Please close the thread or a mod fix the title or reopen it with proper title. they did have 2.5" drive on sale as well for 64 dollars but we have been out of that since the second day of sale.

Indeed, quite obviously a 3.5" in the image.

Ok, ok, my apologies, false alarm. Was passed the info this morning and I pounced on it a bit too quickly, apparently it is for a 3.5" desktop drive. Not that Fry's puts 100% accurate images in their ads but... sorry for the mistake.

Mods: can you lock this one up or delete it, whichever seems more logical.

Thanks
