I'm looking at a USB TV Tuner, and am curious if I will have to use their software, or if I can integrate the tuner into something like windows media center*, or anything else?
The tuner I am looking at is:
KWORLD Hybrid TV Stick UB445-U USB 2.0 Interface

Any recommendations on a better TV Tuner, and if I will be stuck using their software or not?
Also, what type of input lag should I expect from a TV Tuner?

Never heard of KWorld but I can tell you that you do not need to use Hauppauge's software if you wish to use Windows Media Center (not media player, btw).

All you neex is the driver. Windows 7 recognized my Hauppauge and WMC set up the channels on its own without issues.

Perhaps KWorld will do the same.

That is what I was hoping... Anything I have seen on it was sort of .. deficient in describing software options and if it installs a driver that can be used by other software. It sounds reasonable.. Thanks!

I just got the KWorld PlusTV Hybrid 330 USB 2.0 Digital HDTV Tuner Stick and it works with windows media center without a problem. There is like 3 secs delay when changing channels but its not big deal.

I tried power cinema 9 and it works great. For the price I am very happy with Kworld.

Im using windows 7 x64 btw

I am using the KWORLD UB435-Q USB tuner with this Monoprice HD antenna. It works great with Windows 7 media center for recording. You don't need to install the KWorld recording software but you will need the drivers from the website.
