Gamebryo engine for life!!!!! hahahaha:rolleyes:

the engine is still constantly updated, bethesda is just sitting on an old version that they haven't touched tech wise since oblivion

So is there any actual news about an ESV, or is all this just speculation? I've been out of the loop for a while.

Speculation.

The last so called news we heard was that Bethesda was planning on making an ES MMO which immediately lost any interest I would have on the spot and my comment was and is: If they do that, fine, but I hope it doesn't come at the expense of a real ESV otherwise that's the end of this series for me.

Loved all the TES series. Would happily look forward to another even if it didn't look like that photo on the first page.

I'm not sure if there is any solid rumors of an ES mmo, just rumors (though strong) that they are working on a MMO. ES is one of the most natural possibilities for IP, especially sine they can't do Fallout.

Game Byro sucks mainly because of the ridiculous input lag it introduces. Who cares if you're running at 60fps, if they're all 100ms late!

You know... now that I think about it, it does seem quite bad about that. In the past I always blamed it on my hardware's performance.

Honestly it's like everyone wants to be an MMO. I don't think coop play is a bad plan, LAN style playing and whatnot, but the MMO world seems like effort in the wrong direction. ES became famous for making great games, great RPG's and they didn't need 4 million players on a server to prove it.

Updated graphics, some new concepts of how when and where to fight, and then our familiar world of Tamriel and I think we'll be all set.

Much like Star Wars, some stories are best told as stories and some work well as MMO's. I think ES did best as epic stories that brought us into the storyline. Of course some may differ on this thought, but there is my $.20

Obvious technical issues aside, I've always wondered what WoW would look like if there was just 1 server. Towns like Dalaran and Orgrimmar would be insane.

I completely agree. One of the things about MMO's that I strongly dislike is how unimportant you can feel amidst so many other players all doing the same thing. Quests/missions try to make you feel important by insinuating that you're the only one who can help etc. but that requires a huge suspension of disbelief. Some games manage this a lot better than others, but in the end a huge problem for MMOs has been and always will be finding ways to involve the player in a storyline in a way that feels meaningful for the player. It's why MMO's won't ever be known for having suspenseful or immersive storylines.

If TESV remains single-player there is a much greater ability to tell a story that directly involves the player as being the sole hero, which is how it has been for the whole franchise. I can't really imagine a TES game where that isn't the case. Can you imagine a Morrowind where everyone is the Nerevarine? That's some prophecy...

I have absolutely zero desire for TESV to be an MMO. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy it or enjoy it, but I don't think it's necessary.

The Elder Scrolls 5
What ever is will be, put me down for a gold copy!

Imagine the chat window. I remember at peak hours both the servers I played on scrolled so fast it was not even worth having /2 open. SPEAKING OF GETTING RID OF WOW ADDICTION THOUGH, WOOT! I AM FREE OF THAT CURSE!

I guess they would do something like aion, and have "channels" or whatever.
