OSX transfer from Tiger to Snow Leopard

Was wondering what the best way to move my music (plus iPhone settings), calendar and contacts from my old iBook running OSX Tiger to a MacBook Pro OSX Snow Leopard? I know things can be moved with FireWire and the Migration Assistant program, but is this the best and only way?

And, unlike a lot of Windows migration utilities, it actually works pretty well, at least in my experience.
 
There's a bit more tinkering to get that to work well, and I doubt you'll get great speeds.
