post pics of ur p180/p182/190s

Can a P180 Mini with great 120mm intake fans be enough to cool a 5970?
The fan will be blowing directly on the card which I think is better than most cases out there.

Will be fine even with a low speed intake. You don't need a zillion CFM of case airflow to run a videocard.

I've found that the 200mm fan up top and the 120mm fan in the back pull plenty of air through the case, even on the low setting. I tried adding an additional 120 up front but it didn't make any difference.

I noticed recently that with the fans on my P182 on low, they won't always start spinning. If I switch to medium and back to low after the computer is on, they're fine, but they don't start if they're on low.

Really the only thing I miss about the Antec Neo PSU I had up until this weekend was the fan controller lead that plugged into the mobo.

hrm. anglefire must be picky about picture sharing. haven't used it in years. anyway. here are my updated pics. with video card. considering they've been seen before -.- meh.

water cooling project to come (as it is evident)

this is all i could afford for now.

Here is my P183, apparently it is a new revision with a cut-out on the back of the mobo tray and it is "SSD ready" according to the box, but I couldn't find any SSD mounting spot.

I got lazy with cutting out the dampening material. I used a lot of random scrap material around the mobo but I'm not using a window anyway. :p I'm somewhat disappointed in that it didn't turn out as quiet as I wanted it to be even with the top fan removed and the vent hole blocked. (fans are at 900RPM)

EDIT: I was disappointed in the restrictiveness of the front air filter so I decided to do something about it. I cut the steel fan guards and then removed the front door completely. The fan filter mini-door was the biggest restriction to air flow, it cuts airflow to almost nil. This is the first time I did metalwork of any kind, I don't think I did too shabby. I then spray painted the front of the steel structure. Also added a pic of my top vent block.

No wonder with those fans, they have crappy back-pressure properties, try some nexus/yate loon instead. Also that graphics card may be part of the problem

Absolutely. I find Noctuas to produce a jet-like noise, while my Nexus (loons) produce a low-frequency noise, which is a lot more bearable.

I switched out the S12Bs for my P12s and the noise has improved. I guess I'll have to use those fans in a less restrictive case due to their low static pressure. I had to run them at 600rpm to get rid of the noise and the airflow was simply too low at that point. The GPU isn't the issue when idle, but it sure does get noisy during GPU intensive games.

Just cleaned up the cables a bit more and installed my 80gb x25m , so I figured now was a good time to take a few pics.

I have the new version as well. The SSD mountings are on the top hdd cage. The 2 slide out trays have cuttings to mount SSD's.

I agree with the graphics card part. Those new cards with stock coolers are way too loud for my liking.

The SSD mounts are kinda lame if you have a longer graphics card you probably won't be able to use the mounts because they stick out a bit.

Also the stock case was quite loud for me with stock fans and a 5850. I replaced all the fans with quiet Scythe fans and the 5850 got a Scythe Musashi. At this point the computer is really quiet with just the sound of air moving. Pretty sweet case but I'm guessing the original was probably a little quieter.

What are the temps like with the Musashi? I'm looking to get a 5xxx series gpu, but noise is the problem for me.. and a lot of those aftermarket coolers don't cool well enough..

I've been using my Noctua P12s for awhile and I've noticed at full speed(1300RPM) I can hear a hum that spikes every second, as if the case is resonating. The fans do not make this noise outside of the case. Are there any mods I can do to decrease this? I'm tempted to think this is just an unavoidable byproduct of higher RPMs since my Storm Sniper makes the same type of noise as I turn the fans up.

I changed a few things in my case. Funky lights (Tacens Pro Ice) and exchanged the Zalman for a True Black CPU heatsink.

I really need to paint the inside black and get some black sleeves for the cables..

I was wondering 2 things tho, i was looking at the P193. Will a bigger case like that improve my cooling? and is it as quiet as the P182? I wouldnt mind the extra space inside, hehe.

Guys, I´m considering replacing the Tri-Cool fans that came along my P182 for something quieter.

I´ve looked at silentpcreview.com, but I couldn´t find straight info about what would be the best choice.

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance.

If these were in stock: http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa.html

Petra's has "genuine" Yate Loons ... the majority of other sites have knockoffs.

Thanks for the info guys.

I´ll check out some way to get the real deal. Too bad they´re out of stock at the recommended shop, I´d hate to buy knockoffs somewhere else, but it seems I´ll have to try my luck.

Just got done moving my stuff to a p182se that I just bought.

I put some 3m electrical tape over the sides of my dvd burners so they blend in with everything else. Worked out great. I plan on getting one of those NXXT power adapters that have the wires sleeved already to cover up those yellow wires... Too busy to take my PSU apart.

SHINY!

I so love the looks of the P182SE, wish I was able to find one when I bought my P182. Not only the shiny exterior is wicked, the all black interior is pretty cool as well.

Oh well, one can´t have everything...

/jealous mode off

Don't be too jealous. That shiny stuff is genuine stainless steel, and the case weighs 30lbs empty. Big change from the aluminum P160 that I had before. Moving a fully loaded 182SE is a major pain in the butt.

I thought at one time the 182SE would be the last tower case I'd ever buy. But it still has pretty significant airflow issues.

^Awesome WC setup. Where's the PSU hiding? Other side of the radiator?

Can anyone spot my new "mod"?
