You can't move your screen up and down and have it stay there? Mine seems have the spring in the stand calibrated such that it will stay at any height you move the screen to. It also locks in the lowest position with a release button on the back. I wonder if all the stands are not the same.
Any more input regarding TEXT quality?
I'm still using an old 19inch Dell monitor with an LG IPS panel in it. Is this going to be a downgrade in terms of TEXT quality?
Yep, that did the trick for me - at least so far, after several reboots (the OSD saved settings are now NOT reverting to default). Thanks for the tip.Disabling DCC/CI in the monitor's OSD could probably solve the problem too.

I've had this monitor going on a week now and so far I have to say I am pleased with the monitor so far, no dead pixel out of the box. I know folks have been reporting minor issue with the custom scaling, I've started to notice a uniformity issue with a all white back ground. To the upper left hand side I am noticing a bluish tint color and to the lower right I getting a dull fade reddish color. I am not sure if this is the same noticeable problem that plagued the 2475w but if I look hard enough and close I do notice it. This is my first monitor is 8 yrs, my first IPS on top of that.. I really like this monitor but I want to make sure I don't have jacked up monitor or at least find out if this is the norm with IPS monitors. If anyone has any feed back about this, please let me know what I should do .Does anyone have the technical support line, just in case I decide to get a replacement.
OK so if this function is working, then maybe that could explain why a calibrated monitor stays calibrated in games.
What do you mean by close ? Does it show at 50cm (1.5ft) ?
Because when you're close to a big screen like this, the corners are at a quite big angle, so some shifting is to be expected (even if it's much less than a TN).
Due to the fact that all subpixels are in the same order be it on the left or on the right of the screen, at a sharp angle you would see more of one color on one side, and another on the other side, that could explain what you see.
Text quality is excellent with the default sharpness setting (4 if I remember right). 5 and the letters have a halo around them. 1-3 and the text is a bit too soft.
If using Windows, you might also want to adjust the ClearType Tuner to a bit more softer setting. If you set letters to as crisp and black as possible the excess contrast gets a bit tiring.
You will have to drop brightness and contrast quite a bit too. Like already noted many times in this thread the default brightness is insane.
Sharpness setting? Are you using VGA?

There is definitely minor color shifting with my zr24w, to the left and upper corner. That part of the monitor has 9300k cool look. The right half to lower side of the monitor has the
5000k Warm look. This is the best I can explain, I need to know if this normal? or do I need to get a replacement. I am sitting three and half feet away from the monitor. It a very suttle but I do notice it.
Incidentally, I'm seeing the exact same thing. I am actually in the process of getting an exchange, but given that this is an LG panel, eh, it may not get much better than this.
Thanks for the response, what # did you call for the replacement?
I didn't, actually. I used the online Small Business Support Center thingy to submit my case and now they're going to have a local engineer give me a call sometime tomorrow to setup an exchange.
Also, I recall someone else in the thread getting an exchange for uniformity issues. Did the replacement monitor resolve the issue for you?
\Yeah, their support site is comically bad. The link is buried deep within and is only accessible through certain hierarchies:

Has anyone got around to testing this screen out with some Blu-Ray/HD and normal DVD movies yet, because i`m wondering what the quality is like when waching films on it???
Thanks for responding.
