Post Your Connection Speed

I was curious to see what I got to farther away servers and servers all over the world. I would say a couple of the speeds to some parts of the U.S. were a bit disappointing but I think the international speeds were pretty good. I got the best results to servers in California even when some where closer:

Booo for my ADSL2+ service.

(My speeds were about double that in Leeds (a much bigger city).)
I only pay £8/mon though (~$15) so I guess I can't complain too much. My speeds with Comcast back in Denver were about the same, and I was paying ~$55/mon.

It looks like Comcast has my 20/4 service caps solidly in place. Here are my results since early December, very consistent.

Cablevision's Optimum Boost. 30/5 service. On average no matter what time of the day, I was hitting around 23-27Mb DL. 3.5Mb UL. They must have finally repaired the outside plant from my service call last week. I had 90% packet lost and was rebooting the modem once a day for about a week until I made a call. The ping to this server is low unlike before of 8ms there and 6ms into a NY server. I cannot complain when I have to do file download. Very sexy service.

This is with T-Mobile Edge service.

This is my office internet. We're not on some fancy connection, we have the new Optimum Ultra. Our office is also located in the #1 area for high-speed in the country, Nassau County (Long Island, NY). So its nice. We can't go above 70Mbps because we have static IPs and they havnt given us a router to go past it yet, we just got it a few days ago

Sky Broadband over in the UK. Definitely not the best, the upload is better at certain times (although it never gets over half a meg to be fair).

I'll be glad when Fibre is installed nationwide over here, and I can get some decent speeds (although even ADSL 2+ would be nice...)

College dorm connection over Easter break with most students gone. The download is being limited by the fast ethernet link to my room.

From my netbook, sitting in a long-stay B&B in England prior to my move home. Not bad... better than my old home connection.
