Hello,

I am in the process of building a new rig with

i7 930 w/ Venonous X & 2 Akasa Apaches in push/pull
GA-EX58A-UD3R
6GB Patriot RAM
Corsair 750W

I have started with the bare basics to see if the system boots, and it does, but the CPU fans spin up slowly when I start the PC, then stop completely. In the BIOS, the CPU temp read 30 and slowly climbed up to about 39 over a few minutes, then I switched the PC off.

My question is - is this normal? Will the fans only start spinning at a higher temperature? If not, what can I do to remedy the situation. Let me know soon! Thanks

Shouldn't stop completely. Check the BIOs for any fan control settings and modify as needed.

Hi

I turned off the BIOS control of the CPU fan and now one fan spins up at full speed. The other one connected to the SYSFAN power socket, doesnt move at all still.

could be a dead fan. test it on another header or directly with the psu, if it has the proper 4pin molex connector.
