Not due to be officially released to the public for a couple of months

Um what happened to the March release date???

I don't know. I'm ready to buy one. The BIOS is only in the first beta stages.
I can't see this board being released no earlier than the middle of April to May.

Still not avilable? This is the new home for i7-980x that I just got yesterday. More waiting...

My new little 920 I got at MC needs a home as well, esp considering I'm having to make due with this laptop for a computer right now which sucks.

Gods save me.

Yeah, I'm SO tempted to put this in my sig rig for now but its running so well I don't want to screw with it.

More waiting...

How sick it is to call your PC? Not literally but an app to turn the PC on away from home, update the bios and OC? Insane.

Call your PC? ROG Connect works via Bluetooth, so you would still need to be in close proximity to the PC.

I did overexaggerate my point but Bluetooth connectivity is still great.
Another great feature is updating the bios without a CPU installed.
I've seen a few people sell/return their mobos because they couldn't update their bios to run their i7 980x.
They prematurely sold or didn't have a spare 920 to boot their PC. Problem solved.

Here is another mobo from ASUS in the P55 flavor and high end. Nice if interested. Coming out soon Me Thinks

oh god good...i got the rampage 2 extreme now and love it. im pumped to see r3p in action and fully utilized.

All I can say is WOW! Extremely impressed on the OC on that early of a version of the BIOS. The red and black look so sleek.

my p6t deluxe just crapped itself so i'm looking into one of these and throwing the RMA board on ebay.

If I do go this route like I plan to, I'll be swapping out all my older blue led fans for some nice Typhoons and probably putting a couple of red flourescent lights in the case to keep some sort of illumination in there.

Hope they have a good list of memory sticks that are tested and recommended for this thing.

ugly. im not a fan of this and the new crosshair cosmetically. way fucking nice though.

any word at all on a rampage III gene? thats what gets my juices flowing! :D

Not really. Do you want us beating on a board that is not "ready?"

Not at all, I was thinking that the launch was imminent. It's the last piece of the puzzle for my 3× SLI GTX 480 rig. That and a case. Just tired of waiting.

If you view the video, he thinks the bios is still in the post alpha stage, early beta stage in March!
It's weird for them to show the board so early and then not release it until months later.

forgive my ignorance as I haven't played a PC game since TF2's release which my current computer can still play very well.

Core 2 Duo E6600 Oc'ed to 3.4Ghz
8800GTX 768Mg
2 gig ram.

What game requires more than the above? Also what game requires a bigger video card besides crysis?

I've been out of the loop for awhile playing PS3. Just curious.

Quite a few. Crysis is a start and that's an old game but still quite taxing.

I see they did the smart thing and removed that fake add on pci-express sound card. Like to see what it can do with a mature bios. Looks pretty good so far.

Board looks great, I just hate the pci-express lanes being still too close together though. Like to see what it can do with a mature bios. Looks pretty good so far.

Huh? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but the PCI-E slots on this are double spaced. This is one reason why want this board as nVidia recommends extra spacing for the 480.

I was thinking about the p55 picture "SR45" posted. Overlook my post, i will edit it.

You had me worried there for sec because I was already thinking I needed find a new motherboard!;)

7 x SATA 3.0 Gb/s ; 1 x eSATA 3.0 Gb/s; 2 x SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports
On the board, I'm guessing they used Marvell controllers for the eSata and last 2 SATA ports. For the first set, is the 7th port a part of the ICH10R?

I have to ask: 3 x SLI GTX 480 on 2 x (1920 x 1200) monitors?
