MSI Big Bang Trinergy Motherboard Review - The Intel P55 based Trinergy motherboard is one of the latest motherboard releases from MSI. As part of MSI's "Big Bang" line of products, this board is squarely targeted at the enthusiast crowd, and looks to be built to take on the best of them. We put the Trinergy through our usual paces.

WOW Kyle.. you and the [H] team have been cranking out the content of late!! I like it as I am sure everyone else does!!

Hard to swallow spending $330 and not getting USB 3.0 or SATA 6Gb/s but getting great reviews at NewEgg so far (four reviews of 5 eggs each) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130258&Tpk=big%20bang%20trinergy

Thanks for having this available for us to peruse!!

The "always entertaining" Colleen over at PCPER.com podcasts LUVS saying "SuperPipe"!!

330$+P55.... it does not compute. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, it'll be on an X58 platform.

$330+ for no USB3? The GIGABYTE GA-P55A has it onboard and for $200 cheaper,

Cannot justify paying more than $200 for a 1156 board. More than $300 is even more crazy.

QFT. Intel combines the NB and SB together for a more efficient and cheaper chipset, so MSI adds another chipset to complicate things.

Unfortunately when this board was designed, MSI was told X58 was going to be phased out and that P55 was going to be a focus model for high-end (this according to some inside sources)... unfortunately it caused some issues on the way we could market the product once Gulftown was announced.

MSI is readily providing options and Big Bang is a showcase of all our cool technologies and high-quality components. We have an X58 Big Bang board coming out very soon and it should impress all of you :)
