i hate combat medics. they should be able to hold their own, not dominate because of one gun + perks

If you ask around, you'll get the same reaction regarding 40mm grenades and the carl gustav. It depends entirely on the server and the map. In the open, desert maps, generally medics are a close second to the snipers. In the snowy, city maps, assault and engineers dominate.
 
Or how about, when I select to filter servers by Punkbuster, I'll join a server that has Punkbuster off?

I had the same problem untill I realise you should not select "Punkbuster" in serverbrowser. when I do not select it it search for punkbuster=on servers. Correct me if I'm wrong

And recons suits just any maps :) The only thing I dislike about recon that motion sesors are useles on Hardcore Mode since there is no Minimap.

Interesting. For the record I ended up on a Punkbuster 'off' server with the Punkbuster box checked and with the box cleared (and I did click the 'search' button again, to refresh the selections.)

I noticed both of these. I gave up trying to understand it.
 
You need around 12+ with the explosives MKII enhancement to blow an MCOM without arming.

That could be a 2+ trips on a recon or assault with the leg pouch and MKII or a coordinated squad dumping all the C4 at once.

Its usually much easier to take 6 MKII C4 and collapse the entire building instead(for buildings that will let you do that I mean). Once you get a feel for it, you can drop entire buildings no problem but it WILL take all the C4 you have to do so.

I tested on an empty server, an M-Com needs exactly 12 C4 (without MKII) to blow up. Same amount everytime.

Had four kills with the UAV yesterday, before someone flanked our rear spawn and SPAS'd me. First time I've really done anything worth a damn with the UAV. I'm enjoying this game more and more.

I think the discrepancy between your kills and the "most used weapon" thing is supposed to show your kills in the round and your kills in the map, perhaps? I've not tested it, but when I saw it I just assumed that was the case. Probably completely wrong.
 
The most used weapon shows your kills since you joined the server. The box above it is your performance for the round.
 
Any other ATI users here getting really, REALLY sick of loading the map so slowly that people have already captured points in Conquest mode or put charges on MCOMs in rush mode? :mad:

Dx9 mode loads fast, dx10/dx11 load very slow for ATI. I'm using dx9 for that reason... although the shadows look really bleh.

Ha you know I never understood how there were people already halfway down the map by the time I load into the game. I didn't realize it was an ATI issue. I don't mind THAT much it's usually only like a 10sec delay compared to the others but I might try running in dx9 to see how much worse it is visually.

Dx9 isn't without its shortcomings though. The shadows are incredibly pixelated for me (some more than others, i.e. shadows from some buildings). Also, there's a texture flickering issue with ATI as well. It happens during your kit selection screen, post match screen, and inside some vehicles. Although Dx9 does give you a significant performance boost at the same time.
 
I wondered why I was getting into the game so late after everyone else. I'm not used to that problem. Usually it is the other way around.
 
Is anyone else having more connection issues today? I have gotten disconnected twice with a "failed to connect to EA online" or whatever, and failed to load the server list once.
 
I chose the slow load times of DX10-11 VS. th3 jaggies.

DX9 loaded fast and I was all happy. Then I saw jaggies everywhere.

I certainly have. I've also received error messages twice trying to log into the game. "Unable to connect to EA master server" or something like that.
 
i've had my first bout of connection issues ever just this afternoon.

been playing since the beta and not once have i seen a failed to connect dialog until just a few minutes ago.

must be sunday is everyone's day to play around. :p
 
I'm running an [email protected], 4gb ram, IP35 Pro, single WD Black HD, WinXP, and a 9800gt. I'm usually the first person on my team to load a map.

I'm pleased with how the game looks and runs with bloom and HBAO off. I know it'll look a ton better with new hardware, but this will do for now. Using a 32" 1080p LCD makes the gaming experience so much better.

Seems the multiplayer CTD and server disconnect issues are gone for me, but now single player keeps crashing while loading. Didnt do that before the patch.

That's interesting...

I was able to duplicate the behavior on my system again. Ran FRAPS, game froze in 20 minutes. Quit FRAPS, was able to play the game for 4 more hours.

Do you have a Logitech G15 or G19 keyboard? FRAPS has a plugin for those keyboards that can auto load if you set it too.

I'm guessing it might have something to do with the FRAPS LCD program...One of the earlier patches turned off the BFBC2 Status LCD program also ( I can re-enable it though). That program showed your ping, K/D, and what server you were on. Maybe its related?

Hell, I'm grasping at straws now though... The game is so buggy it could be any combination of things.

I do not. I have been using the Deck Ice Legend, and Das Keyboards with my gaming rig.

I have to force quit the game :S

I cant even get into the battlefield 2 website. I think EA is getting hammered right now....
 
If i had a LMG and 40mm I'd probably be unstoppable, so that is probably why they do it. They know both of those weapons shouldn't be paired.

Can you imagine a squad of those? Key-rist that would be a slaughter.

Man, on HC servers recon guys have the edge if they know where to hide and use the SV Short (silenced rifle). Plink, plink, plink. Keep killing and they never know where you were.

M60 is really lame. That is all.

You must have had the wrong end pointed at you once too many times. I choose to be on the other end of it. That is all.

Anyone notice a pattern on some servers? One team is usually stacked and rocks the other team so hard that the losing team slowly leaves until the server is dead. There really needs to be some sort of auto-balance or team scramble option.

this happened ridiculously often in the beta, I'm surprised it still happens in over half the games i play.

it's either 20 to 10, or one team is stacked with people from the same clan... lvl 25+ while the other team has a bunch of lvl 0-5's. The autobalance in this game is just... so bad.
 
Ive just about lost patience with this game...it was the most fun a game has been in the event that it worked...but the state of it is just atrocious.

I cannot connect to any servers now (when it was generally fine in the past)...after the last patch the game just crashes as soon as it finishes loading a level (SP). every other game is fine so i dont believe its a hardware or driver thing...

bleh...quickly becoming a waste of a purchase...

I'm , actually, vice versa trying not to play the game because it's too addictive and takes all my free time. So fari have managed not to play for 1 day in a row :)

I'd love to see some local caching for favorites and history in the server browser so i don't have to wait to hit connect. Same thing goes for weapon preferences; the server should check to make sure I can select those weapons, but I shouldn't have to re-select every time.

I still don't see how they could release a game without features most fps's have had since 2001 in good working order.
 
ok something wierd is going on....ever since last night, my online games have been an utter slide show...the sound is laggy, my guy keeps running in place and it is unplayable...I thought it was the server so I went into a game with 2 ppl ,and a ping of 1, and still slide showing....Shit, I even tried to laod a saved game from single player and the game just crashed during the load...I think this is from the steam client update, because all my single player gaming was done b4 the update , so all my saved games are b4 the update...but wtf is going on with mplayer???? I have read it is a possible memory leak, but prior to yesterday, my gaming has been fine...even after a reboot, the game is laggy....all drivers are current, clean installs, riva tuner checks everything ok....temps good...wtf???
