Post your "rate my cables" here

Neat. Would be even better if you paired up another 5770, then the black and red would look neat as.

Here is my new core I7 build:

A little update to my fileserver, added 2 pieces of WD20EARS and replaced the Fractal fans with Noiseblocker Multiframe's:

So now it is 4xWD10EADS + 2xWD20EARS + 1x Samsung 1.5TB + 1x Seagate 1TB. That is 4+4+1.5+1 = 10.5TB declared capacity (which is if i count correctly 9.7TiB).

Damn dude, what case is that?

I love how people's file servers on these forums can rival my main rig. LOL. Nice job on the wiring.

Most of it is OK, but that front audio panel cable going between CPU cooler and graphics card is simply ugly.

You would have to add a lot of cable and it would be more work then it would be worth it but lengthen it and bring it around back
Or even drop it down closer to the card

Got a better idea? Gigabyte really dropped the ball when they put their connection there.

They are not the only ones, and I totally agree. I hate motherboards that do that. I've never had a case where the front audio ports are in the BACK of the case. Why would any motherboard manufacturer put the header towards the BACK of the case??

Maybe there's a nice extension we can buy or something.

I saw some extensions for the audio connectors when I purchased an internal USB extension cable. I should see if I can find that link again, because I have the same issue... front audio connector is running in the same place (although mine lays flat on the video card).

Ahh, found the link: http://www.frontx.com/

Damn, nice find. Almost half the price of the Frontx one (which is $8.40 for a similar length)

I also have that issue with the front panel audio cable. the add on card sits in the lowest slot and I have to route it around :(

here are some pics... i think its pretty clean considering the size of the case and what hardware i have stuffed inside.

I have no problem with my A05. The cable sits underneath the videocards and goes to the lid. I don't get where you have yours.

Looking back it's 3 times over 3 pages and two on one page. I didn't notice how often I'd posted it in this thread. I promise those will be my last ones for a while though.

You guys in USA got so much goodies the rest of the world doesn't have (and a lot cheaper most times too), you just need to browse for it on internet. ;)

Down here in Aus we don't have a huge amount of the goodies they do i the US either

thats why i just make all of my own cables

this is my main rig

18 HDDs and all

I made my own cables (i have replaced the plugs with black ones now)

Going to try and tidy it up a bit when I get round to repainting the sides, the paint as standards really thin and easy to scratch.

So long as it works, I don't care. All of this 'impedes airflow' bs is, in actuality, bs.

It is not about airflow. It is about "i bought a Obsidian 800D and i route all cables directly from point A to point B without using the cable management features" effect. Seriously, if you buy a case with so awesome cable management features as Fractal Design Define R2, then you are bound to make good or at least average cable management. Those holes are there for reason.

Finally "finished" this just in time for this past weekends LAN party. Probably won't change until I go to a full water cooling setup. The 3M di-noc film on the H50 is there because when I had it in my previous case (Scout) the logo was upside down :)

I made the 24pin extension from some cable I got from a PS maker. Quite the pita to get the pins crimped on and lined up but I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Third picture is of the wiring harness that powers the front panel (120mm) and rear panel (80mm) fans, the bottom intake fan (140mm), the two top exhaust fans (120mm) and the white LED bar that's hidden at the top of the case. The LED bar is also controlled by the built in light switch. The harness sends 12v to the bottom and rear panel fans as well as the LED light and 7v to the rest of the fans.

I also swapped out the blue front fan for red and changed the disk activity light to blue to match the bluray drive activity light.

Thanks for looking,
