I already have an Antec 500W PSU, and I'll look around for a PC Case.
In the mean time, here's what I have:

I'm looking into saving some money on the RAM.
It'll be a pretty fast computer, and I'm not a heavy gamer. (Lock On, BF2, CS:S yada yada)

Comments? Pick it apart if you will :D

I read your thread in videos cards, and to be completely honestly, if you can save up another $100 you would be able to build a much much more capable system. The main problem with what you have there would be the GPU, I would go with a 4670 that has ddr3. That being said, other than shiro's recommendation this is what I came up with:

Athlon II X2 + Gigabyte 770

Sapphire HD4670

G.Skill ripjaw ddr3-1600

Came out to a little over budget...
If only ram prices would drop...

Which Antec 500W PSU do you have?

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
3) Where do you live?
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
6) Will you be overclocking?
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?

EDIT: BTW the 9500GT is overpriced and totally crap for gaming. So not worth it at all. The HD 4670 would rape the 9500GT. Also, depending on your answers to the above question, you might be fine with just 2GB of RAM.

300 add 20 bucks margin.
3) Where do you live?
New Jersey
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.

I have a monitor
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Online Store.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Not important
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, 64 bit.

Okay , first thanks to everyone with the help, you've convinced me that its a bad GPU, I'll go with 4670. Amazon has it for 74.99 with free shipping and no tax.
Maybe I can do okay with 2GB of RAM for now, maybe get one 2GB stick.

You didn't answer questions 7, 8 and 10 correctly. Please read them again and answer correctly.

Anyway, try to find a 2GB DDR3 RAM set for about $50 to $55. That should put you at around $260 to $270 total.

Okay I'm sorry Danny, thanks for your help.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I have a CRT 21" monitor. I'll get a flatscreen LCD in future.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Tonight if possible, but I can be convinced otherwise.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
SLI is a plus. I have a sound card as well.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, 64 bit Window XP. Brother in law has Windows 7 64 bit if I want.

Is there a problem with the MSI motherboard I picked out?
Only problem I see is that it requires OC to get 16000
1x2GB RAM wouldn't be so bad.

Hey, some advice for you. First of all, make a WTB thread in the selling forum. A lot of people let go of some really good hardware very cheap, hard drives and video cards are particularly easy to find in my experience.

Definitely check out newegg combo deals, you can save a bunch.

Ebay is always a great option, what I like to do is look at completed items that didnt sell. Then message the member and low ball them - but don't overdo it :) I got a HD 5850 + 4GB Gskill RipJaw RAM + Asus M4A78T-E + x4 955 BE for $450 after some GOOD negotiating! It just takes some effort and finding the right person, who really just doesn't care about the money so much. I swear by this method. Just make sure you have them relist the listing for security purposes and offer to pay the listing fees. I bet you will have a lot of luck esp with lower end/less top of the line stuff that you are looking at.
