I decided to make this thread after looking at my 800D and realizing I'm probably never gonna change it until Corsair updates it...and it made me remember how many cases I had gone through this past year....here's my list:

Lian Li PC-B10

iCute Case - I'd had it a few years.
Antec 300
Fractal Design Define R2

Apevia X-Dreamer II
Antec 900
Antec 300
Antec 1200
Antec 902

Damn, some of you guys change cases like a germaphobe changes his underwear!

I have only CHANGED one case... I split a system that was inside an NZXT Rogue into a Cooler Master 590 (WHS server) and an InWin BP655 (HTPC). Then I built my current desktop in a CM Storm Scout, and I don't plan on changing that case for a long time...

I have an ANTEC 18 hard drive bay server case that I bought in the late 1990s on the old system and a FULL tower that I bought 5 or 6 years ago on the new.

The full tower is similar to this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...60008&cm_re=full_tower-_-11-160-008-_-Product

I believe the new case has survived 3 computers while the antec probably 12 dual core systems. I believe I started using the 18 bay case with a dual processor celeron 300As overclocked to 466 as I doubt I had any of the dual Pentium 1 tyan tomcat hx boards in it..

in only 1 year??? wow i thought i was bad flipping my motherboard and video after 6 months. only one for me. antec 1200.

Since 2007

Antec P180b
Zalman GS1000b (that did not last long)
Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced (current)

This is just my main rig, I've had countless of other cases for everything else.

Second case within a year.

Silverstone FT01-W
Lian Li PC-A05N

I like the A05N much better than the Silverstone, although that's not to say the Silverstone's a bad case.

Well, one. Before this Fractal Design Define R2, I had an Addtronics 7896a for about 8 years :D

Before I got my Lian Li PC-A05B I was changing cases every few months. but for the last two years I have been perfectly happy the A05 and I don't see myself using another case for a long time.

I see no need to ever buy a new case, since I got my Li'lfish 2yrs ago. A perfect slab of monolithic aluminum.

The CM690 does quite well for the wife's rig, too.

Started 2009 with an older silver Lian-li PC-60
Then swapped parts to a black Coolermaster Praetorian (PAC-T01)
Next was a Coolermaster Scout
Finally a Coolermaster 690 II Advance

My HTPC started with an Antec Minuet 250 and just recently changed to a Silverstone Grandia GD05 to better match the rest of my media center.

Swapped my wifes system from a Thermaltake Lanbox Lite into the Antec Minuet. It's much quieter for her.

Next will be acquiring a Lian-Li A05N for my Megasquirt/Game server system.

2007:
Aopen G325 (a rare cube MATX tower)

2008:
Enermax Chakra in blue (basically a CM Centurion 5 with a 250mm fan on the side and stealthed drivebays)
Centurion 5 blue (didn't like the fan)

I started 2009 with an group of CM chassis.
Elite 360
Elite 310
Then Storm Scout (kept it)
Now the beautiful CM 690 II Advanced (keeping it for a long long time)

I ran an Antec 300 for about a year and a half, then got my CoolerMaster HAF 932 for Christmas. Before that, I had a RocketFIsh tower that I loved, but it was just too big for my tiny apartment space.

I used to think I went through too many cases but damn! You guys leave me in the dust!

I have bought too many "last case I'll ever need"

They just keep getting better in ways I can't imagine...

Antec 900 - Old rig now empty/stripped lacked cable management. I put a bunch of holes into it but finally got sick of it.
Antec 300 - Backup rig
Cooler Master CM690 II Advanced - My current main rig

Also I have the following around:
Various Dell/Gateway cases - As my family/friends want to get rid of old computer/cases I would snap them up.
Lian Li - PC 62 - Friend didn't want it as his old computer broke and he bought a mac... Still a really nice case but it's sitting empty in my basement now.

Dunno? I keep all my cases..and just start completely new pc builds. Had as many as 15 once, but I gave a few away to family.
This year though...
I bought a:

Thermaltake Lan Box
Lian Li Q7
M360 itx

Currently own besides those liste above:

Antec 900
Old Modified Chieftech/Antec/Chenming case
Asus Vento (black)
Sugo Sg05
Couple of Dynex boxes (the tooless ones) I gave one of those away w/ amd biostar setup
a generic aluminum midtower (raw silver/no paint)
and...
a few other past cases...a gaming window case black (gave to sister) w/ amd rig
and...

I STILL have my 12 year old FULL tower DELL Dimension w/ RD RAM!! nuts huh?

I have a friend who runs about 25+ systems(don't ask) and his power went out a coule times when he ran them all at once a few times.

1. Thermaltake Xaser III Blue w/ Window ( Loved this case but incredibly heave + 7 80mm fans on included fan controller)
2. Antec SuperLanboy ( crappy case...excellent design and I loved it when I bought it (LIGHT!)but could not hold up with flimsy side panels that are currently off the case. )
3. SilverStone FT-02 (Brand new, haven't built the computer in it yet, will be building next week.)

honorable mentions are the Tandy 1000 case and the 1995 Sony Vaio Desktop Case.

Have been using my same Coolermaster Stacker since I got it in 2007.

Still using my trusty cheapo Rosewill TU 155 since 2006. Modded it over the years but it still runs well. :D :D :D Still need to do things to the case.

hp pavillion case ('98-'01)
Generic white case ('02)
Apevia X-Dreamer II ('03-'05)
Antec P180b('06-current) <-My favorite case by far, dont think I'll replace it for along time, unless I find another new p180b

Thermaltake VC2000 Mambo -
Very flimsy thin steel, came with a broken usb port, and the front door would swing and pop off the hinges all the time. I didn't like it much. The only thing remotely interesting was the tool-less drive mounts, I ended up not even using them though.

Chenbro SR10568 -
Same case that Alienware used for their workstation series a few years ago. Strongly built, nice removable drive cage, tool-less fan mounts. It came with a crazy loud Delta AFB1212SH exhaust fan, and a slightly quieter, but still loud, Sunon intake fan. I eventually replaced them with quieter Delta EFB series fans. Only bad thing about it was that you couldn't remove the right side panel, so there was no good place to hide wires.

Chenbro SR10769 -
The case I'm currently using, and plan on keeping for as long as possible. It's a short case, but it runs really deep, which I like. The interior layout has separate zones for the drives, psu, and mobo. Lots of fan placements, 3 120mm, and 2 optional 92mm intakes. The captive spring thumbscrews on the side panel are nice, and it's built out of 1mm thick steel, so it's strong as hell. But, because of that, it's heavy as hell too, shipping was 25 bucks or something.

Still using my Lian Li PC-V1200. Had it since 2007 I believe. Before that I was a scrub and had an eMachines case, yuck.

I lucked into a LianLi V1200b case when they first came out. I used, and reused that case, and am still using it now for another system. I did pick up an 800D, though I am not as happy with it as most others seem to be. So it may not enjoy the same longevity as the V1200b did.

Stacker 830 (powder coated white with a back interior) *retired until I build a system to put in it or sell it.
ABS 595* the best case I have ever owned hands down, I love the thing.

Last 2 years:

Corsair 800D
Cooler Master Storm Sniper
Cooler Master CM690
And I have changed out 2 systems in my Old Antec P160 (6 years old but too nice to get rid of)
Semi retired another Antec P160 (temporary storage until I find something to put in it)

had an antec 900(garbage) switched to a haf 922. don't think i'll ever need another. it has way to many options for change.

1995 Gateway 2000 P5-100XL full tower

It'll be exactly 15 years on Monday. Still roomy (fits my 5970 with inches to spare), protectant has kept it from yellowing much, and built like a tank. But the Corsair 800D is in serious running to finally switch for a main rig. I'm thinking it over but I'm not in any rush. Funny, the case must weigh at least 10 - 15lbs more than the 800D!
