"The beefier Air Series A70, meanwhile, doubles up with a duo of 120mm fans - again attached with noise-reducing rubber mounts and offering selectable speeds of 1,600RPM or 2,000RPM - and raises the copper heat pipe count to four, each of which again offers direct contact to the CPU."

"...promises to "significantly outperform" either an Intel or AMD stock heatsink."

Obviously that remains to be seen. It looks awfully basic. Not that that's any indicator of performance, but just sayin...

This is exactly the same specs as a Xigmatek s-1283 3x 8mm direct contact heatpipes. The fan mounting is a little different, but I hope Corsair doesn't plan on using push pin mounting. Push pins are too weak for 120mm tower coolers.

Neither will use push-pin mounting.

a corsair rep said that the A70 is better than the h50, so it's probably on par with a TRUE...hopefully it is cheaper...hopefully it'll have a good price point

they look like the snuck into coolermaster and photocopied their design drawings. Eh nothing new.

Corsair's Air Series A50, pictured above, claims to be "ideal for PC builders and hobbyists who want to upgrade from stock Intel and AMD coolers". There's no mention of pricing, but the manufacturer's description suggests the A50 will be a low-cost solution.

In other words expect push pins on the A50 model since its got a low price point.

If they are right that the A70 is just an extra fan and heat pipe I would expect no more than NH-U12P performance with more noise. I still think a bolt on bracket will be extra.

Redbeard (the Corsair rep) has already said neither will use push pins. Much <3 for that.
I don't really hate push pins (and haven't really had any horrible experiences with them) but bolt mounting is just the way to go.

That is a huge win for them as I had one experience with push pins when I first got my OCZ V2. That was short lived until a week or two later when I went back home and back to MC to get a bolt on bracket.

Though, given that information I'd expect the A50 to start at $40 and the A50 ~$55(?). The A50, at that price, would be a nice option against the CM 212 but the A50 is up there in Mega, Noctua, TR, etc area and I really doubt will be competitive against those coolers at least on a i5/i7. They make too much heat.

I'm still waiting for corsair to release the next product in the " hydro series ". I would love to see a 140mm or 240mm rad with the same basic design philosophy. What I REALLY want though is for them to partner with silverstone and make a 180mm rad for the FT-02 and RV-02.

Why would we partner with Silverstone when we make our own cases? :D

We're looking at lots of future products.

Right now, the A50 and A70 are designed to be very competitive in their price points. The A70 should compete with any high-end aircooler on the market from a price/performance standpoint, and unlike some of the high-end aircoolers it will include the fans.

The A50 is going to be significantly cheaper, but it'll outperform anything I've tested in its price range.

We didn't want to do aircoolers as a "me too" product, and we tested literally dozens of prototypes before we got to where we are now.

Some of the things that we in the lab hate are:
-Metal wire fan clips
-Push-pin mounting
-Difficult installation mechanisms
-Really loud fans

So we've gotten away from all that. Should be out in a couple of months - you guys will see the reviews pop up in April/May I believe.

I really like the 800D and think it is an incredible case. I've had a chance to play with it and if I had the budget to build another computer I would definitely go with that. My only qualms and ( i'm sure you've heard this a lot ) is that its too big. Its an excellent case but if it was 1-1.5 inches shorter I would have gotten it over the FT-02. well, not really its always been my dream to own a high-end silverstone and the fiance got it for me for v-day. :)

Seriously though I did get a chance to play with it and it almost made me want to trade my ft-02 in, if it just wasn't so tall... It definitely impressed me much more in person.

I will tell you redbeard... corsair does have the enthusiast wold excited about what you guys are putting out...
