Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Here is my office before the arrival of the new system and the HP 24" monitor:

system0.jpg

The new system is a Antec Twelve Hundred case, core2 i7 920 @ 4Ghz, 6 GB DDR3 1800Mhz OCZ Reaper RAM, three 80 GB Intel X25-M G2 SSDs in RAID0, 500 GB WD hard disk, 1 TB WD hard disk, and an ATI Radeon HD 5870.

The HD 5870 allows me to connect the three monitors to the new system. Leftmost is an 24" HP LP2475w, middle a 30" LG W3000BN, rightmost a 24" LG 2452T. Because the HP has multiple inputs, it's connected to the new system via the Displayport and to the old system via the DVI-D link - this way I can switch the HP between one system and the other at the flick of a button and still enjoy a 3 monitor system.

You can also see the monster APC 2200VA SmartUPS unit which can power my system for up to 2 hours during a power outage (the APC 1000VA you can see in the lower right corner of the first picture is now powering the other two PCs here).

P.S. I know smoking is bad for your health and that I suck at external cable management. Haven't gotten the courage to deal with that spagheti mess yet. ;)

*sigh, with all of these 3x 2343bwx eyefinity setups I'm almost temped to buy a 5870 and 1 more 2343 sammy... :(

Do it up! Thing is, I ordered the 2343BWX's (20000:1 DC) but received the 2343 models (50000:1 DC). Not sure the differences besides DC, but these ones are beautiful as is so I don't mind.

Is that an Ikea Galant desk? Been thinking of getting that exact same desk in anticipation of getting another couple monitors for an eyefinity setup myself. My current desk is far too cramped to set up 3 1920x1200 lcds. How has the desk held up for you? Any caveats or things I should be wary of?

Are you talking to me? If so, no it's not a Galant. No idea what it is, but it's definitely too cramped for my setup. I have been looking for a new desk but being in Panama, good peices of furniture tend to be pretty expensive. My eyes are too close to the center to screen to fully experience the wide angles, I need to be back further or I am craning my head to far in each direction.

Hi!

Yes, it was bought on Ikea, so I think it is a Galant desk. Nothing bad whatsoever to say about it, very sturdy, much more than I expected, if fact. :)

As for the wallpaper, you can find it HERE.

it's hard to get a sense of scale, but the main monitor in the first picture is the secondary monitor in the second picture :D

Literally, it took me about 10 tries to figure out what was changed... I thought at first you were just running a game, and had firefox minimized on the other monitor...

I used to have that same desk, it was ok when I only had one small display, but I had to sell it when I went to multiples. The only thing i miss about it was how heavy duty it was built, and the nice wide keyboard shelf.

Yea it's pretty good desk. Unfortunately the upper right and left top shelves aren't too strong, if I pull the monitor arm out too far it rips the shelf off, luckily the screw lock still works even after ripping it out one or two times =P. I thought about going to a jerker, but I would need 2 shelves to replicate this desk, plus two monitor shelves, and it wouldn't look this snazzy, not to mention that the full keyboard tray is indeed awesome. My only complaint is that the desk isn't as stable as I'd like. Everything shakes and wobbles when I type and move my hands around on the keyboard, I thought about skipping the jerker for the Fredrik but that POS is less stable then my current desk (not to mention lack of extra shelves available). Oh well, $10,000 custom desk time!

Me too haha..I didn't really see what was going on until I scrolled up, down, up, down and THEN read the end of the post :p

Bored2death986: My first thought was: "Hot chick!" Second thought was: "New keyboard?" :p

Hornkiku23: Beautiful! I'm still debating whether to get a couple of 2711s to replace my 3008.

Imac 27'' with u2711 as secondary display in display port
My old PC in DVI as primary
whats the ag coating like on the u2711? imac noticeably clearer? I compared a 3007wfp-hc and the imac, haven't had a chance to see u2711 in person

edit: if you're interested in this specifically then check this thread.

I have that same desk and love it! I sure wish I could find another one in stock somewhere. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I can't remember the model name though...

Here is mine. I modified it by lowering and widening the shelves. It works brilliantly. :D

I really like that desk. Do you know its details (make, model, place of purchase)?

Two Boos block butcher blocks from old world butcher blocks (google it)and legs from ikea.

They are not cheap but very very high quality walnut and 3 times cheaper as a simliar offering from room and board.

Lol, the keyboard is just tucked under the monitor shelf in the first picture.

two HP LA2205WG and a Viewsonic VX2265WM in the middle. mixing refresh rates does not work, but I hotkeyed different profiles for games I don't eyefinity.

bunch of cables in the back and some sweet cheapo monoprice lcd arms

hardly anything fancy. will probably get a complete overhaul once I graduate in May (or rather, once I find a job heh).

In a room where you can control the light the imac is far superior because of the AG coating.
I feel that the dell can be calibrated to match the imac and vice versa though.

When I drag a safari window from imac to dell its like all this dirt suddenly appears on the page.
When I was a single 3007wfp owner I got used to it but with the imac sitting there you never quite do.
Also with the led when you wake it up from sleep its instantly bright and the dell takes about 3 mins but other than that I see no difference in the led.

which has the best picture quality, the imac or the dell?

Here are a few pictures of my current Eyefinity setup. I seemed to run out of realestate on my Desktop so I am wondering if I could get opinions on whether or not I should go with a wider Desk to widen the panoramic view?
