Hi, I have the original x-fi Fatality pro but have heard that it had problems running on vista-that is without alchemy. Is this also true with Win 7? Any help appreciated.

CHeck the driver support at the CReAPtive website, and the forums. I have been having problems with my Audigy 2 ZS platinum since the W7 beta. The card works, and sounds great, but the audio control panel is buggy, I can't seem to get more than one output to work without CThelper crashing, and since my card is older (but still running strong) appearently Creative isn't going to support it anymore.
Alot of people seem to be having problems with certain C cards in Vista, and W7, so if you poke around on their forum, you might see posts about your particular card.

Have you tried the Support Pack drivers? I had nothing but problems with my X-Fi before I installed those and they all went away.

Try these, I use an Audigy2 ZS in my secondary rig and it's going strong.

I was hoping that creative's official drivers would work fine with 7, but if it doesn't , I'll have to give those a shot. Thanks for the reply.

I haven't installed 7 yet, but I was wondering how my old x-fi would run on 7 because I thought about selling it and then updating to the newer x-fi titanium champion series. Although I heard there isn't much of differences except maybe driver support for win7 and vista and pci-e interface. Kinda lame, so I might have answered my own question about upgrading, especially if the old x-fi can run as good as the newer x-fi under 7.

I have an old X-Fi XtremeMusic. I've never had a problem with it in Windows 7. I just use the regular drivers for Windows 7 provided on their website.

I have the X-fi XtremeMusic also, which came out even before the Fatality ones, and it works wonderfully in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
