I was wondering if anyone knew what the acceptable limits of increasing the voltage on the 5850's? I dont want to try it, without a little knowledge of where the upper limit is.

Otherwise, Ill just be happy with my 795/1170 for now.

Thanks for any help!

I run 1.250v with no issues. I have seen others do the msi afterburner max of 1.35v, but I have not tried it myself. Dont be afraid of 1.250v, it works fine.

Consider yourself lucky, my card wont even do 760/1115 without driver crashes... Im going to set my cpu at default settings and try it again to rule that out I guess.

But the corsair 650 should be fine right? I overclocked my 4890 alot and never had a single crash.

When you OC the VC, your increasing your demand. Could be over 760/1110, your PSU cant supply a steady power. could be failing as well. When you OC a CPU and a GPU, its really increasing your needs. I would turn off the OC on the CPU, and see if that changes anything.

I upped my v to 1.300, and clock to 925. Have been playing codmw2 with no problems. I have just left the mem at 1100.

The 5850 cooler dissipates much more heat than it needs to, hence why it's so cool and quiet (fan speed usually only 21-25% of max). I'm sure you'd be fine maxing the core voltage out if you can deal with the additional noise and heat.
