ATTN: Major Problem with 171.67.108.21 (NV GPU Server)

strange to see all the idle clients in my HFM status.

my basement is so cold too......

i know the feeling.. my phenom II 940 at full load isnt enough to heat this room up.. its only 60 degrees in my room right now with my door closed.. usually its around 75 with my GTX 260 folding with my door closed..

There is hope...

15 GPU2 clients (Nvidia) are sitting on their butts right now. One GPU2 client (Nvidia) picked up a work unit about 3 hours ago and is taunting the idle GPUs.

Atleast were not taking as large a hit as EVGA

EVGA 62% of normal, [H] 75%.

Humm.... They are still gaining. We just need to start up a bunch of SMP2 clients :D
Their top 5-6 are dominated by -bigadv folders who have access to farms as large or larger than Tiger's. I think that's where they are making up the difference.

How do they have farms so big?!?!

What we need to do is clone tiger.

Is everyone still having problems? Both of my 260's have been pulling work from 171.67.108.11 and have been going strong since around 3pm EST.

Two of my systems (6 GPUs total) are shut down for much needed maintenance taking advantage of the situation. My running systems are in the same state as earlier.

meh both my gtx260's are unable to get work after #19 attempts and counting.

guess now is a good time to get SMP working on my q9550

Now is a great time for any overdue maintenance, installations and non-GPU troubleshooting.

It is really not that hard to pull off.
If i added another 2 systems and ran all -bigadv, my numbers would around that area.

Takes $ + $ * $ to pull off, but it can be done.
Sadly, my current status is $ + $ * 0
(Yes, bad math joke .. )

yup including the 50 or so windows updates ive been to lazy to install because i dont want to restart my computer..

The only GPU I have folding is an HD 4830 and I didn't notice it go down because it takes so long per wu. I picked up a used 8800gts 320 tonight got it running and ...

Nice, I was thinking 4K ppd but that works too.

All my GPU2 Nvidia clients are loaded and folding again. ~.21 is back up/functioning properly.

I'm getting work but still having the original "Server has already received unit" problem.

it'll probably stay down til tuesday.. since monday is considered a holiday.. i doubt they will get anyone over there to fix the server..

GTX275 and 9800GX2, all three cores not getting any new WUs either. Only did 8k points yesterday, mostly thanks to my Q6600 system.

It's strangely quiet in my room this way :)

Nothing here either, so it looks like tomorrow is Windows updates and new Arctic Silver to reduce that now 160F peak temp on my stock Q6600... 8 month straight of 4 cores on BOINC + OGR, and the temp has been inching up since Xmas... I want my OC back!!!

see told you that you would get use to the noise and then when it was gone you would go insane.. thats how it is for me.. even turning my computer off for 1-2 minutes ill go nuts not hearing my loud ass fans..

Well, after I put the Q6600 system into an Antec 300 case it was pretty much only the noise of the airflow I could hear, which is bearable :)

There's no way I could sleep next to a dozen Delta screamers like some people, though :p

Hey? What's that ya say? Speak up dear, I can't hear you.

Yea my 2- 275's haven't picked up and work for some time now :(. Can't wait till we can get some.

Thank god for my new i7 build though :). Putting out enough points to keep me from getting mowed over my Elledan and Lehmann :).
They been in my rear-view for some time now and this i7 and the lack of work for the GPU's has saved me, lol.

I kind of wish I had this second Q6600 online now :( I wonder where Tigerbiten and his P4/P8 cable vanished off to...

Maybe I should just have splurged on a new PSU after all :p

I have one client out of 5 that has work, other than that all GPU is offline. Guess that means my power bill will be slightly less this next month. ;)

Still nothing for me.
My 8800GT grabbed a WU late last night, which gave me hope that things were back to normal...my 260's never grabbed anything, the GT finished it's thing and then didn't grab another. Still sitting idle this morning.

Oh well...at least everyone else is down. *cough* EVGA *cough* They're taking a worse beating than us in PPD drop since the outage. :p

edit restarted my clients (instead of letting them sit there another 20 mins before trying again) after seeing Zero's post and BAM they grabbed WU's. Looks like Zero is right and things look back to normal now. Woohoo!

Same here.....nothing new coming in on my GPU clients. :(

GT just grabbed one too after a restart.

Try restarting your gpu clients Ax, see if that works out the kinks for you...definitely worked for me. All nV cards resuming normal operations in my neck of the woods. :) 'bout time they earned their keep again :D

I've had work for the past few hours but I'm still having the original "Server has already received unit" problem.

Did that just prior to posting this last time. Made it to Attept #8 and then picked one up! w00t! Might be back in business again!

Vijay has finally replied:

Thanks for the posts. It's early AM in Califorina (that's why this went unfixed for several hours), but I think we've got everything going again. I've contacted Joe regarding this issue: there was a WS bug.

I've also balanced the weights so the other NV WS's can get into the mix better and improve the redundancy.

Back to folding here again. Damn... that 9800GX2 sounds more like a leafblower than ever before.

*hopes Fermi is going to be more quiet* :p

Do we need to restart clients? I'm not home and won't be in a position to restart till tonight :(
