What to replace an NEC 20WGX2 20.1" with?

I've had my NEC 20WGX2 20.1" for a few years now and it's hands down the best monitor I've ever owned. I've recently decided to upgrade my system and am also considering a new display. I'll be holding onto my 280GTX SSC for a bit longer. Although I'm not opposed to upgrading the 280 for another high quality LCD like the NEC 20WGX2. I'm not sure what the new standard size is, but I'm guessing I'd like to go up to a 23" LCD.

I may end up just sticking with the NEC, but wasn't sure if there are some really good upgrades available now.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

eh
I'd hold onto it if I were you, because I really missed the clarity of the 20wmgx2 and the antiglare coatings on the monitors I tried eventually turned out to be too annoying...unfortunately I think the only glossy IPS are apple displays

if that's not important to you, and you do find something you can live with and want to sell the 20wmgx2 then send me a pm i'd love to pickup another :)

Plain and simple answer....

NOTHING!

It's basically impossible these days to find a LCD of similar quality. Unless you need more LCD real-estate, I'd keep it until it dies. That's what I'm planning to do with my 3. Only thing I hate is that it's not 1920x1080 so no 1080p movies for me.

However, I've heard pretty good reviews with the newer Dell U2410.

You have crazy love for that glossy NEC. I have the 90GX2 and can't seem to replace it.

Does that new Acer 120hz have a glossy screen? No one seems to mention it.

Ditto. I'm keeping mine until it dies. Thought about upgrading for a while but nothing out right now has the awesome glossy coating AND ips. It helps that almost 4 years after I got mine friends/family still praise the image quality when they see it.

I don't think it is glossy, but it doesn't matter - you might get a 120Hz TN for other reasons, but not as a replacement for a 20WMGX2.

The closest thing to a 20WMGX2 these days would probably be the 27" iMac, and that remains tricky to connect to a PC, along with its other issues.

Thanks so much for the replies. Looks like I'll be holding onto this wicked good LCD for a bit longer hehe.
