It's God telling you to stay away.
Seriously though, stay away the amount of gear-Nazis in WoW is truly staggering.
Looking for <insert class here> for <insert 10 or 25 man here>. Must have done fight at least a dozen times, link achievement page! Must be able to crit for at least 50k, link your gear!
Etc, etc.
Trade chat ripped him apart too...that part of the game, link achieve, Gear score, etc.. has gotten out of hand imo, but the game itself is still a lot of fun.
Don't mean to stray off topic too, but I guess it's just the easiest solution to trying to quickly find people who don't fail. Certainly doesn't always work, but there's no quick and clear way to quantify "competence." I'm not a big fan on how things are shaping up either, but it's just the way things are at the moment.
I've stopped again. The whole ICC gear chasing thing is just retarded. We didn't raid for the last two weeks in December and I haven't gone back since. I requested a downgrade from raider to member, I just got bored with the game again.
That's still quite good for "casual." Many players are still barely breaking 5k (myself included at 5100). Of course, I have an ilevel 200 trink that's still among the best for arcane mages.
Yea it seems pretty staggering to try and level from 1-80 to get into the endgame. If you find yourself hating leveling up, you should probably call it quits. Don't force yourself to spend days' worth of game time leveling up if you're not genuinely enjoying it. I've been guilty of convincing one of my friends to level all the way to 70 in TBC because I kept telling him that the endgame was where it was at. He hated leveling, and probably shouldn't have had any business in MMOs to begin with.
I remember when I first started playing WoW and was of course "WoWd'...I played for a good year and then quit before the first expansion came out. I too tried to start playing again, doing the same thing you did. I dl'd the 10-day trial and after about 20 minutes I was like...MEHHHHH!!!when i left WoW 6 months ago i was dying to get back. i palyed hardcore for 3 years and looking back i missed alot of time with my daughter. So i quit 6 great months went by and i started wanting to get back into it. built a new rig and all.
So i grab the demo and start playing alittle bit and i realized the game is just not for me anymore. There are SO many games out there i ignored such as Crysis and now that ive been able to play Crysis and stalker im blown away of what i missed.
i also missed the $16.19 a month in my pocket and to be honest the last couple of days of leveling i felt really guilt cause i felt like i was taking time away from my daughter.
