Hi, I would like to buy a nice 7.1 Virtual Surround headset but I confused between Logitech G35 and SteelSeries Siberia v2 USB. I don't like the Megalodon because of the price and I read in some reviews that the remote controller is quite big and the edges are sharp. I don't care about minor slowdown when using G35 because of software-based driver. All I want is a nice 7.1 virtual surround headset with strong bass and best sound reproduction. G35 is cheaper than Siberia V2 in my country so that's one advantage for G35.

Thank you very much :D

If that's what you want, you'd do much, much better to get stronger headphones and then rely on something like CMSS-3D.

Dolby Headphone and a good set of stereo cans. 7.1 headsets are gimmicky crap IMHO.

Is 7.1 really useless? Some reviews said 7.1 make a much difference than stereo in games. Any other suggestions for nice headset?

A good 7.1 speaker system is nice. 7.1 headphones are a bloody gimmick.

So is it better to get a nice stereo headphone than 7.1 headphone? If so, can you suggest me which nice stereo headphone?

A used Beyerdynamic DT770 is pretty much my baseline for gaming & movies, which I assume to be the priority from the 7.1 stuff ($100 used, $250 new). Audio Technica ATH-AD700 or A700 would be a good option short of that (i.e. if you don't have the patience to track down a used set).

Yeah, you don't really need 7.1. If you happen to find a good set of headphones that happen to have virtual 5.1/7.1 get 'em, but don't get it only for that reason. Like other people said, 7.1 for home theater system good, 7.1 for headphones a gimmick.

Yeah.. for true surround sound I already got the Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Surround Speakers at home. I'm looking for decent headset so I can do gaming without waking up everyone :D
